Up-shorting

Just watched the tunnel cam for the first time. Question. What is the lino looking for when he asks the players to hitch up their shorts as they come into the tunnel. Witty quips are accepted but I'd also like to know the answer.

I think they check their underpants to make sure they are the same colour as their football shorts. And not soiled.

Me too, but perhaps it is something which is devolved and the Welsh Assembly hasn't got round to yet
