With 12 games to go, Macclesfield were top with 65 points, (same as us this season) and were 5 points clear of Sutton in second place. Aldershot, Boreham Wood and Wrexham were tied on 59 and Tranmere were 6th having lost their last game 4-1 at home to Macclesfield.

This season the race for the title is so much closer and more tense.

Absolutely... we are in a great position but anyone looking at the run of games in February would have realistically seen a number of winnable games. Things get tougher from here on in starting with Gateshead on Saturday which will be a big test.

We do seem to have turned a corner in respect of our away form and it is good to see a more positive outlook. However, there is a long way to go yet. I daren't get my hopes up too much at this stage but I think we should make the playoffs this year at the very least.

It certainly is going to be a nail biter.

This time last season we had just got back from Solihull after a 0 - 0 draw.
The only shot we had all night was when Wedgbury skied one over the stand roof.
Where did that year go ?

A shocking collapse of epic proportions.

The points per game ratio of that last 12 games was 0.92 - which was the same ppg as Torquay had for the whole season, who finished 22nd. So it was proper relegation form.

That will not happen again, we are stronger than last season, mentally, technically and in terms of squad depth. Also we have a new manager with a feel-good factor after winning his first three.
