I don't get this thing about attendances ( except of course when having the customary dig against The Jester). Most of Non League will always have crowds of under 1000 at matches . The fact that a few of us in the National League and Stockport/ Torquay in the leagues below continue to get much larger attendances doesn't make the rest tin-pot as many on here harp on about . The best two go up , the worst two come down. It really is as simple as that.

It depends what you mean by "best."

If you mean the top two, then you're right (leaving aside that the play off winner may not actually have finished 2nd).

The argument, however, would be that buying your way to a promotion spot doesn't make you "best" (without wanting to get into the whole argument that certain clubs "deserve" promotion more than others).

By all means remember our wonderful football heritage and our potential to keep writing this story......however some humility is not a bad thing.

A brilliant Russell hattrick gives us a 3:0 victory over Exeter City.
A good game watched by myself and two of my children....and only 960 others.

It also puts into perspective the tremendous support we now enjoy.

Attendance is good for the club. More ticket sales, more merchandise sold etc. Wrexham will always have a large fan base based on where we were as a club years ago. I bet even if we were in the National North or the league below that, people would still come and watch us.

The reason most of these lower league clubs are doing well and having low attendances is because they are newly founded teams. They also have lots of financial backing from the owners. Also Solihulll, have Birmingham, Aston Villa, West Brom and Walsall to compete with for fans.

I prefer going to watch Wrexham whereas some other fans continue to support the bigger teams nearby, who quite frankly, do not need the money. I imagine that if Fylde or Solihull did gain promotion, they would gain a few more fans.

Just a few more facts re: attendance/support.
Saturday March 2nd. 2019.
Our support was thousands higher that any other team in our league - we had 6150 more in the ground than Solihull Moors

Only Notts County had a better crowd in Division 2 and only by a couple of hundred.

We would have been the 6th highest crowd in Division 1

great respect to each and every Red!

I am not sure that the powers that be care much about actual physical supporters any more. TV money, sponsorship and sugar daddies keep many clubs afloat while fans, in the authorities’ eyes, are the unwashed who need facilities like disgusting toilets and security and simply spoil the day. The fact that we get nearly ten times the numbers in attendance compared to the likes of Solihull is relevant to nobody but ourselves I’m afraid

I think the FA have jurisdiction over the National League not the EFL they would need to enforce FFP.
