Cheltenham, Forest Green, Stevenage, Crawley, Macclesfield, Morecambe and Yeovil are the seven worst followed teams in League Two but teams like Notts County or Port Vale could soon be joining us in hell.

If Boreham Wood had beaten Tranmere in the play offs, that would have woken up the Football League, big time. They barely get 500 fans a week. If our tinpot rivals get promotion ahead of Wrexham and Leyton Orient (the only two proper clubs in the mix) then I can seriously see the EFL bring in three up and three down.
We got over 7,000 fans today. Solihull got about 26. At some point, the EFL will wake up and see what is going on.
I so hope you are right. I have been arguing this exact point for some time now. The normal football league teams and their fans cannot be happy with the lack of atmosphere at the grounds of the "tin pot" teams funded by their "billy big buck" chairmen. Not to mention the reduced money earned playing away to these teams.

Am I missing something, but how does an extra promotion place from the NL decrease the chance of the likes of Solihull getting promoted. And doesn't more relegation places mean more chance of a 'big' club coming down??

I agree that some sort of financial fair play should be applied at our level but if a smaller club does then get promotion by merit then good luck to them.

It's all relative - should we have a ceiling set at League one level as many teams would consider us too "tin pot" for Championship/ Premier League level.

If you take away the dream/hope then there is no point to it all really.

wxm boy and sub rob I take the points you make. It is just a frustration that I and I suppose lots of others feel about the lack of financial fair play. I don't have an answer I wish I did.

what an interesting question Rob. On reflection I suppose some people (not me) would say that Bournmouth are tin pot for the premier league. I think most of us would say they are an inspiration. The problem I feel is the lack of a financial fair play system that works. To come back to the number of promotion places. I do see that increasing promotion places would not guarantee that well supported cubs did not fester in this awful league as long as we have. It would however put us on the same footing as the football league. It would also of course increase the chances of "proper" football clubs getting back where they belong.

Did you see Stockport had over 6000 fans on Saturday ? I'm sure they feel equally frustrated. I'm a great believer that eventually the cream will rise to the top but there needs to be a fair playing field (financially).

If you heard Red Bull were buying the club - how would it make fans feel ? Would we stick to the moral ground then ? So difficult.

They dont care. Its not about crowds its about TV money as said on this thread.

Yes our crowds have been great but its all about putting the best players on the pitch. Hasnt 10 years taught you anything?

At the end of the day, all the other big clubs that have come down have managed to go back up. Luton Tranmere etc. It's only us stuck here.

I disagree with the rule as it's not consistent with other levels. Even the hallowed premier League let's 3 in a year.
