Our record against the top teams is awful basically because we cant score against them.. Only blessing is in our last 9 games we dont play anybody above 6th.I am confident we will be in play offs and probably in top 3.And that will be 1 match at home and 1 at Wembley to gain promotion Trouble is 2 matches against top 6 teams and we cant score

Indeed and in said playoffs we will be facing top tier teams which we will struggle against, hence the reason for initial topic in that if we don’t win them we need salford and Leyton to go up to aid our chances next season.

In my opinion good post. Going up as champions is a big ask but we are not out of the hunt. I seem to remember on the TV one of the commentators saying that our run in is the best of the contenders.

I did say on a thread where some fans were over salivating that we were going to win the league, working out the results on paper to calm down, stop building yourselves up for another bitter disappointment, some working out that Orient playing last Tuesday night would make them tired etc.

I repeat no game is won on paper, all the teams promoted from this league have at least one regular goalscorer and that we have non

It's not over yet by a long chalk, but my concern is we are on our 3rd manager and nothing on the playing side has changed for the better. We are to lacking in quality in midfield and a severe lack of pace upfront.

As I said one game at a time let's be honest who really expected us to win at Leyton Orient? I don't mean fantasisers I mean fans with logical thought ones who know we are only up there because the league quality is very poor this season.

So Tuesday Barrow at home a tough game against a team who score goals but have a weak defence, us a team who have 8 defenders and can't score goals. It should be interesting has a draw written all over it.

The reality is we are very much in the mix for the title as we are for top 3 or top 5. Advantage has swung slightly to Orient after yesterday's results. My reckoning is there are 5 teams in with a good shout, so at best we have a 4-1 chance winning it, but that at least this means it is still wide open.

Would we have taken this when Ricketts was appointed, after the summer recruitment, after our form up to xmas, when Ricketts resigned, after the January window, after our January form, after Barrow quitting and after the appointment of Bryan Hughes? The answer has got to be yes, could it have been better well yes but was it ever expected then no. It's about the the here and now, so keep the faith this is what we have been wanting since the 98 point season.

We all know the weaknesses in the Wrexham team i.e. the forward line. BH has not had a chance to reinforce that part of the team but as done a great job with the resources available to him. We have two home games where 6 points and other results going for us could make a big difference after the disappointment of yesterday's result.

The main thing is we are hanging in there and as far as I know the Fat Lady hasn't started singing yet !!

Sorry JND but have you actually watched any of our games under Hughes other than yesterday? Our attacking play has been significantly better than under Ricketts and Barrow. Yes it's probably still not where it should be but the improvement, particularly since the Graham Barrow period (other than Salford H) is quite remarkable in such a short period. Yesterday we came up short against a good team but we aren't playing anyone as good as them in the run in
