It was one of those freak games. The whole team were terrible there were no redeeming performances, every single player had a poor game. We're not world beaters but we certainly are one of the better sides in the division, being where we are at this stage isn't a fluke.

Injuries, change in formation, and just an awful all around team performance played all played the part. I can't see it being anywhere near that bad again.
I admire your optimism CR, but the depths to which we fell was astonishing and I fear an identical re-run of last season’s climax.
The players on the pitch last night just aren’t good enough to get us over the line - even if we scrape the play offs.

Akil Wright. Simply not good enough. Went missing for large periods as he usually does, woke up for a short spell in the second half then went back to sleep. Dreadful performance as he consistently emptied midfield like a headless chicken. Said it months ago; destined for the wpl.

Kevin Roberts got every pass and decision wrong. Looked lost in his supposed natural position and nearly put the new signing in A &E a few times with some shocking passes. The new lad was dreadful too but I felt sorry for him being thrown into that rabble.

The January signings follow a familiar pattern yet again. Not used and it’s looking more and more like they aren’t good enough either. This will be excused by some on here, again. Like night follows day.

The farce from the board in January and then the cover up and public back slapping needs to be addressed at the end of the season. I ain’t forgot and neither should anyone else.
Priority number one for them is clearly self preservation over everything else. That is certain now after that fiasco and subsequent cover up.

Play offs is our best bet now but the players we’ve lost through injury I think may well kill our season.
I don't disagree with a lot of what you have said. The reason I was picking out Jennings was because of FOG having him down as someone we should keep.

Fair enough. I'm not convinced we should keep him either however I'm not sure we can get better.

Unfortunately I don't think that was a blip.
Lose two key players and the whole side suffers. No one to lead, to pressure.
I think we will win on Saturday but it will be false hope.

I hope not, but the longer we are without Pearson and/or Walker we will struggle.

We desperately need one or both back.

Unfortunately I can't see Walker going back to the Shrews for a minor injury and Pearson's injury has re-occured.

Not good at all.

On another note I wish we could attract the quantity of good players we need. The 'small, quality squad' mantra is trotted out season after season, but in the end we always end up with a lot of 'filler' and not enough 'killer'.

The January window really is the prelude to anticlimax over and over.

If they got the signings right pre-season they wouldn’t need to rely on the January window so much. But it never happens that way does it?

If it did, we would probably be in a better position!

Was Pearsons absence due to injury? I heard last night that he was booked after the Leyton match for comments to the ref . Gave him 10 yellows and a 2 match ban

Rather silly and very costly, if true. We certainly missed him last night. I am sure Kennedy would have played at RB instead of the hapless Roberts.
