Default Conclusions from tonight

1.Akil Wright as well as really struggling to hit target (Maidenhead) also really struggles to pass to his own team or exert any authority in midfield. Cannot play in a two in midfield.Would choose Leo Smith or Sargent ahead of Wright sorry Akil.
2.Kevin Roberts is finished. Gobsmacked him and Wright were kept on for 90 minutes.
3.Barrow despite being part time were better technically in passing the ball to team mates and forward. Also better at heading on target from corners. Either the coaching is poor or players are. Is definitely either or.
4.Results like tonight are only going to increase the feeling that the club needs some outside investment. We have not reached the play offs for years so the club board are not fulfilling their main remit in reality. To not reach the playoffs given the level of support at home and away games this season would be unforgivable. Spencer & Co do not pick the team but they oversaw the Barrow debacle and likewise the Andy Davies project last season.
If we do not reach the play offs this season the club board should resign on block pending a new board as they will have failed the fans.

We may scape into the playoffs. If we do I hope we don't go a goal down as we never score from this situation. You never know we may fluke the playoff games and win them with our normal default win of 1-0. Being realistic, we will probably lose the first play off game 1-0. If and when we do it is yet again at the end of the season another heavy pruning of the majority of the current dross we have. Re build again. Will we ever get back into the league. I hope Orient and the moneybags ( get them out of the way as money generally always talks) go up this season, as what is coming down into our league hopefully should not be a threat next season.

There is no direction from the top and it’s why we continue to struggle.
FT professional players and management led by a bunch of amateurs on the WAFC board with no real leadership when it’s needed. Another failed January window backed by the usual suspects with the same old excuses yet the money was there but was wasted in the mire of the management fiasco and cover up.

BH and BF will need to stamp their mark on things but after tonight’s ineptitude I just wonder if anyone can see or address the basic problems we have.
Our recruitment policy is poor as is the spine of the team yet again. We need 2 CM and 2 forwards that we can build on with Pearson and Lawlor. Get the leaders sorted and then a couple of loans to supplement the quality. It’s not rocket science really.

Sad thing is if we fail to reach the play offs it’s more cash down the drain.

Salford see this top six as being a blockage and want to burst through, you don’t need to spend the money they have but just a little ambition and this league would have be won by now.

Its took me a while to work it out but I think tonight I've worked it out. Our entire philosophy of play is to be thinking one step ahead. Our players think about what they need to do defensively even when we have the ball. It's why the midfield as are so reluctant to make space or gamble, it's why we have Beavon battling like a defensive midfielder in final third even when we on the attack.

I'm not being too dismissive because on balance it has been moderately successful this season but when the mistakes start to happen like on Saturday and tonight (either by having key players missing or through individual mistakes) then there is nothing much left.

I don't know what the answer is as the likes of Akil and Beavon have this mentality so deeply ingrained in their play but I think it is an explanation of sorts.

Look at Holroyd. Is he the best player you've ever seen: of course not. But does he have a different approach to the game than the rest of them. I think he does. Stockton too in a different way. If we want to try to unlock teams moving forward with what we got I think we need to give these two a bit more flexibility. Take away their defensive responsibility and let them have a go. Tollet is also part of the answer but I don't quite see in him what the rest of you do. A player who tries to beat his man and succeeds 1 in 4 is an asset but his ratio is more like once every three games.

I'm trying so hard to be positive here but even that reads back as super negative.

Bad to say it but I bet you we will still be here next season, how on Earth we have even touched top of the league shows how shite everyone else have been. For me I don’t believe anything has been done right in years, the best decision the board could make is put us up for sale.

The conclusion is the players just aren’t very good, this is technically the worst side Wrexham side I have seen. How many times did we pass to the opposition or pass the ball out of play last night? How many clever cushioned headers landed at their feet? I was laughed at the other day for saying we need a whole new midfield and forward line and last night proved it, we should be dominating possession in these games and I don’t think we strung 1 pass together. I don’t know what influence Flynn has had on this side but it’s clearly not a positive one but atleast he used his contacts to bring the worst loan player I have seen at the club in.

The conclusion from last night was no fight from the team.
Doesnt bode well for the run in and selection choice is becoming worse.

Probably the time now to set up the starting 11 and stick to it.

Barrow are full time not part time - but have one of the smallest squads in the league and on the 3rd lowest budget in the league.
