Default Re: Why are our loan signigns in the main so poor?

It's the club's money getting wasted

I beg to differ. Its mainly our money from ticket sales, merchandise sales, donations, sponsorships, concession sales and a variety of other income streams that come from the fans.

Its mind blowing to see what some people spend in order to follow this club, and then they get rewarded with some of the bang average players that have been brought in on loan.

Grant had a contract with a league one club so he could have been on much more than £1300 a week.

Is it just us or is it just football at this level? Seems to me most of this league are stacked full of loan signings.

As for players being unfit, why do clubs loan out players, especially mid season, other than to get them fit.

To put them in the shop window, to give them competitive football, to get them ready for 1st team football, to see how they cope with first team football, because the player wants to play etc etc

Yeah all those. And there is a chance the player won't fit in, won't be good enough etc.

I just don't think we have any worse record with loan signings as any other team at our level. We've had a mixed bag this year, some good some bad.

We've got issues and recruitment is one but I don't think poor loan signings are a problem specific to us.

This, its all about getting good value for money. According to Spencer, Barrow was given £200k to spend in the January window. I'm not certain that it was spent wisely, or if he even spent it at all.

I still think players crack under the amount of pressure that there is surrounding us as a club. No league football since 2008.

I think we need to look at other leagues, not just the english ones.

I also think that some of the players who we do get in on loan do not care whether we win, lose or draw. As long as they get paid at the end of the week, they are happy.

I think we do need an investor. The current system clearly is not working. and to change our style of play too.

We have scored 46 goals this season and every team in the top 8 has scored more than us.

We are worse than most. Look back at the list as it has some shocking names and situations.

Indeed, the youth side should be used to make up numbers, sadly it's been allowed to rot away.

Hopefully with Flynn in we'll see some sort of revival, although that would mean the board admitting they were wrong. I wouldn't hold my breath can only see them making it as hard as possible to revive things sadly.
