I find it interesting that no mention has been made about Flynn’s contract. Isn’t he employed by another team as chief scout? I believe his involvement with us is on a part time basis and I suspect if he is with us next season it will not be as assistant manager. At least he brings to the club a wealth of experience and respect within the football world attributes which have sadly lacking since the departure of Barry Horne.
I dont remember any information about his contract when his appointment was announced. Prob another hidden gem just waiting to surface.

Anyway as long as BH is happy :)

Brian Flynn has contract until end of season.

Re: flynn

Shall we put this into context. 7 days ago we were confident that we would be in with a shout of winning the title, or at least a top 3 finish. We've had one bad result. LO cannot count as a bad result, disappointing, but not bad.

Now everyone is blaming the board, BH, Flynn. We didn't turn up on Tuesday, Pearson wasn't playing. Put it behind us and look forward.

If we finish top 3 we have a really good chance. Home game against a team below us in the semi playoffs, then a one off game at Wembley.

Calm down dears!

LO was a bad result. If you want to win the league you need to get the better of your key rivals. As orient did.

Well dear if the teams behind us win their games in hand we're 5th and Orient will be 7 points clear of us, on top of that we have to go to Hartlepool and win get a result at Halifax no easy games in this league as I stated when some were suffering with premature ejaculation salivating we were going to win the league after scraping a result against Chesterfield football is not won on paper, computer or statistics.

To many have short memories and have forgot about last season's surrender.

Yes we should at least make the play offs but the top 3 is very much in doubt now that Salford seem to have returned to form, and even Eastleigh are on a great run

The common denominator for the teams who have caught us up again is they score lots of goals while we have a party if we score 1.

Their is no escaping the fact our leading scorer on 5 scored early season then dropped and out on loan shows how bad our midfield and forwards are really it's a miracle especially after Barrows tenure we are in the play off places.

Those 5 defeats under Barrow could have cost us the title or the top 3 not to mention his dire signings.

When Ricketts was here he tried to improve our professional approach by getting a scout now we don't have one.

Still a new start tomorrow and one game at a time before celebrating winning the league or top 3 or even making Wembley.

The up is great but the coming down is never easy...Lots more ups and down until the end of season.

Flynn , contract til end of season then is that right ? , does it mean if we fail to go up he'll be off maybe , and another assistant will be here .

Re: flynn

I have no issue with Flynn being appointed and will reserve judgment on his appointment until we're at a suitable point to judge.

Hughes is a novice manager, if he believes Flynn is the right man to assist him at this stage then it's alright by me.

Jussi seems quite vocal on the touch line too for a goalkeeping coach so I assume he's more involved than his job title suggests.

What's Darlington doing for his £35k a year for two days a week?

One day training and most match days.

The board would never confirm someone's salary and rightly so but I'm reliably informed he is on that sort of money. Wrexham FC is a nice little earner for Darlington.

I note that someone completely unconnected to me posted something similar on here recently too.

We all know how leaky this club is.....

Oh yeah forgot about match days.

I'm struggling to believe that to be honest. If that's true then its gobsmacking. Mind you he does pick the managers for us too.

Was going to say, he picks every new manager. Then it is put through the scoring mechanism for double checking.

Surely its because we are fans of the football club that we get the reactions we see?

I certainly am not happy with everything that has gone on this season. I am happy that somehow we have managed to stay around the top 3 so long.

But anyone who thinks there aren't issues, or thinks that everything must be rosy because of the league position are deluded IMO.

And because this is a football forum, its a place to discuss these issues.
If you don't like to see negative comments about the club etc then my only advice would be to stay off the boards.

No chance, pro rata that would give a salary of more than the manager and significantly more than players.

Why? Proper people cost money. That’s why our forward line is so poor.

Probably up there as one of your best posts.

If fans are true fans then they will get frustrated and lash out at everything they see as wrong if we lose badly, any other reaction shows that person doesn't care as much if he tries to make excuses, like the ones excusing the mistakes with Barrow by the untouchables.

I've said this before all they had to do was show some humility and apologise for their mistakes, because as the owners it's our money they are wasting on mistake after mistake.

An apology and I'm sure they would of got a lot more respect off the fans.

Less than Solihull pay for their strikers.

I still don't understand why we go for quantity rather than quality. Two quality players must be better than five average players and the financial outlay would be similar.o
