Is it just about the cash though, if rumours are correct we have targetted quality over the last couple of seasons but it seems extremely difficult to land those signings. Talking to a couple of local FL players, both targetted by Wxm they are aware we are paying good wages but there is a reluctance to drop to the NL. Unless we have silly money like Salford to throw at it, we are best suited to cast the net wide and find a few gems who can be developed quickly to level required. Hopefully BH & BF can identify those players and can get them in.

The reason the January transfer window and it's dire signings are brought up every season around now is because the the even bigger failiure of the Summer transfer window.

You shouldn't need to worry too much about the January transfer window if you get the quality required in the summer which is easier and less costly to do. But we don't pay for quality do we so until we do these same transfer threads will be repeated season after season.

😂 like Fondop? Wright? We are never going to be promoted on gambling Oswell had one great season in a league lower at Stockport a flash in the pan? Or just not good enough for the step up? Time will tell.

Yes but we should be thinking 1 or 2 years in advance, instead if shirt term but considering the constant upheaval in the manager's office we never get ourselves in that position. Fans will throw in the 11 seasons scenario, but unless we get some stability and some succession planning we will always be chasing the money clubs.

Its not all about cash your right. Its about looking a bit longer term though.
We should have a CF thats good enough for 2-3 years minimum. Fondop was never this option. Backup option yes but not main CF.

We have struggled for years not just 1 season.

BH has to sort out CM and CF in the summer thats the priority. Providing Pearson, Lawlor +1 stay as well.

Yes but unless we are in a position to buy and pay the wages of a Rooney, a Cooke or a Rowe, who is to say we will get that CF, we are all craving for. On paper the next best thing is an Oswell or a Quiggley or a Beavon but they are either not the finished articles or are past their best. The loan market always seems the best option, without a production line but again no exact science regarding which youngsters are even ready to do well in the NL.

We are definitely some way off. The league has no stand out team though, that's what makes all this so frustrating. Same as last season.

Disagree. Loans top up the team. We need a decent CF and pay the price

Since Fleetwood there has been no standout team and it is a fine line between all the others and we are not far offtgat level. Any of the top NL sides would struggle without a fit Pearson, Walker, Carrington or a Summerfield or their equivalents. It's times like this that tests the strength in depth of your squad. If Tuesday is a benchmark we haven't got that depth. However c'mon Wxm, let's see if others can step up today.
