I believe we'll make the play-offs - just.
I think our struggles will continue, but with some players hopefully returning from injury we should just have enough to make it over the line so to speak.
The first half of the spine of the team is impressive (Keeper and Centre Halves) but the rest of the spine is poor. Midfield central pair of Young and Wright doesn't work. We don't have good enough wide players to play 4-4-2, but in our 4-3-3 the front three are too far apart which isolates the central striker. Would prefer to see a 4-3-1-2 variation, with Oswell/Stockton partnering Beavon (who would then be swapped for Holroyd after about an hour). I'd play either Deverdics or Rutherford in the advanced midfield role just behind them, leaving a solid (but not spectacular) 3 of Wright/Walker (if he returns) Summerfield and Young.
Back 4 of Kennedy/Carrington, Lawlor, Pearson and Jennings with Lainton in goal.

By no means ideal, but my opinion on what's best given what we've got...

I’d agree with that. I think we’ve looked better with Beavon playing but it doesn’t work when he’s on his own. Seeing him in a two, I think, would see better results.

Well never mind 35 days the next 14 (2 away games) are critical.

The key person for promotion is BH and how he now utilises the players.
Chopping and changing now isnt a good idea and I think he needs to set out his starting 11 and work on them.

I would like to see a CM in to replace Walker but thats unlikely.

The positivity needed now comes from the manager so lets see.

flip me. If you think we are going up this season you are deluded. We are shit, when will people just accept that ! With the players we have a top 10 finish is an achieving.

Call me negative or whatever you want in most peoples book it’s called realism.

It’s the hope that kills you, never has a truer word been spoken.

I am not a betting man - ever seen a poor bookie? But I really do think we will sneak into the play offs between positions 4&7. Money on that, for those that do. However, after that, we will be cannon fodder for those teams that score more freely than us (that seems to be everyone).
Optimism is fine as long as reality is factored in. I wake up most mornings hoping that I am going to look in the bathroom mirror like Brad Pitt, but it ain’t gonna happen!
We have now lost our best forward and know that if we lose PEARSON for whatever reason, our defence will be in total disarray. I have cancelled the Wembley hotel for May!

Appreciate we've been shit last 2 games but the H&W and Boreham wood away wins weren't that long ago and we continue to grind out narrow home wins (Barrow aside). I don't think we will go up automatically but will definitely finish in the playoffs and its then about how far we can raise our game. We definitely need to loan a new CM and maybe a new striker too.

So, from next Saturday until the end of the season, we’ve got 35 days when our fate will be decided.

Seven league matches, all 1-0 winnable if you ask me.

My key to promotion? Cole Stockton. Just a hunch. He only scores in bursts. Goes from about 2 in 38 to suddenly hitting 10 in 7. He needs a chance. He’s got seven games to make himself a hero and we need goals.

As for the 35 days business, Leyton Orient have ten games in that time. Plenty of twists and turns still to come. Gotta be honest, didn’t think The O’s looked like a team who’ll run away with it last Saturday so it’s all to play for. Everyone plays more often than us. We’ll be the freshest team around and we don’t need play any of our close rivals.

Seven wins gives us the league for sure and I think six probably does too.

Great run in, better than everyone else’s.

Come on boys, a more big push. Do it.

Believe.

We’d have taken this at the start of the season.
Yeah , We need seven goals and seven clean sheets
