The map shows the land that needs to be purchased to enable the regeneration project to take place.

A new Kop stand is part of the regeneration project.

How can it be?
The current kop stand seems to lie on the Uni land.
Is the stand being built behind it. I am confused!!

I’m confused that you’re confused!

It would be built where the current Kop is, on land that we lease, with permission from Glyndwr.

Worth remembering that we didn’t own the Racecourse when any of the current stands were built. Apart from a short period in-between coming out of admin after Hamilton, and then almost going bust under Moss, we have always leased the ground from Border Breweries, Marston’s, and now Glyndwr.

Will have to read it again. So WAG are going to build the stand on land we lease?

I’m not sure on funding and who will pay for what. But a new Kop stand is part of the regeneration plan.

Lesley Griffiths AM has corresponded with the relevant partners for a number of months and hopes the May deadline will move things forward. She said: “Seeing the national team back in North Wales in front of a sell-out crowd clearly demonstrated the importance and potential of the Racecourse Stadium. The whole occasion was a major boost for the town and I am certain everyone in Wrexham would love to see this type of event take place more regularly.”
“Regenerating the Mold Road corridor will help achieve this goal and discussions between Welsh Government officials and local partners have been taking place for many months. The land known as 2 – 4 Mold Road is pivotal to any future redevelopment projects and, I believe, is particularly significant to Wrexham AFC and the Racecourse Stadium.”
“By offering to buy the land, the Welsh Government would be safeguarding the area to ensure all options for future regeneration can be explored, including redeveloping the Kop. It is a protracted process but it’s important the people of Wrexham are made aware of the ongoing work and commitment from the Welsh Government.”

Very woolly.
Safeguarding the area to ensure all options for future regeneration can be explored, including redeveloping the kop. So basically making sure there could be access to the kop stand. No statement its part of the regeneration.

Wrexham fc would have to pay for part of the stand to be built you don't get nothing for free these days.

Let’s wait and see what the plans are. The whole point of this regeneration plan is essentially about redeveloping the Racecourse and having a stadium that can host international football again.

My idea is to build a stand where the seats can easily be temporarily removed or whatever, to allow it to be transformed into a stage for the summer.
