Iím not sure on funding and who will pay for what. But a new Kop stand is part of the regeneration plan.

Lesley Griffiths AM has corresponded with the relevant partners for a number of months and hopes the May deadline will move things forward. She said: ďSeeing the national team back in North Wales in front of a sell-out crowd clearly demonstrated the importance and potential of the Racecourse Stadium. The whole occasion was a major boost for the town and I am certain everyone in Wrexham would love to see this type of event take place more regularly.Ē
ďRegenerating the Mold Road corridor will help achieve this goal and discussions between Welsh Government officials and local partners have been taking place for many months. The land known as 2 Ė 4 Mold Road is pivotal to any future redevelopment projects and, I believe, is particularly significant to Wrexham AFC and the Racecourse Stadium.Ē
ďBy offering to buy the land, the Welsh Government would be safeguarding the area to ensure all options for future regeneration can be explored, including redeveloping the Kop. It is a protracted process but itís important the people of Wrexham are made aware of the ongoing work and commitment from the Welsh Government.Ē

Very woolly.
Safeguarding the area to ensure all options for future regeneration can be explored, including redeveloping the kop. So basically making sure there could be access to the kop stand. No statement its part of the regeneration.

Letís wait and see what the plans are. The whole point of this regeneration plan is essentially about redeveloping the Racecourse and having a stadium that can host international football again.

My idea is to build a stand where the seats can easily be temporarily removed or whatever, to allow it to be transformed into a stage for the summer.

I have fingers crossed this could actually come off.

Hopefully the Uni get on board, and say the council find a way to find the cash to get it over the line.

To be clear I have not seen any documents or plans, but what if they have new station / hotel / gateway path to the club / stand? In theory in a few weeks documents should start to come out to firm things up.

Will the various people involved let the club/town down or shape up?

It would be built where the current Kop is, on land that we lease, with permission from Glyndwr.

Worth remembering that we didnít own the Racecourse when any of the current stands were built. Apart from a short period in-between coming out of admin after Hamilton, and then almost going bust under Moss, we have always leased the ground from Border Breweries, Marstonís, and now Glyndwr.

Out of interest, when did Border Breweries buy the ground? And why? Or did the build it originally?

If not Border, who did buy the land and build the ground originally?

Really great health and saferty from WCBC and yet another let down by them.
Just imagine a fire and no access, actually no it doesnít bare thinking about.

Still donít understand why itís just not done via compulsory purchase for the good of the club and to prevent further problems from prospective owners.
There seems to be an argument for no further development other than for the club.
From memory if you have existing access to land , itís illegal to land lock it access has to be maintained . Somebody better qualified might be able to confirm this ?
