Default Re: Ebbsfleet -Does BH know his best team?

On the train home after a surreal afternoon in Kent.

Rumours that the game was off circulated at 3pm with Ebbsfleet refusing to take the field.

As it happens it was us that didn't show up for the first half.

The front three selection looked lightweight and so it proved as uncontested aerial balls were swiftly returned to our half.

Roberts, with little support from McGlashan, was exposed as they were allowed to fizz balls across our box and one inevitably ended up in the net - albeit via Pearson.

A free header for Cheek to net the second. He looked genuinely embarrassed as he tucked away the third after being given enough time to write a bestselling novel and then convert.

Off go the three recent signings and suddenly we carried considerably more threat.

Beavon and Oswell must start the final five games on that showing - much harder for Fleet to clear their lines and the goals came from the ensuing chaos.

A couple of unbelievable saves from Ashmore, particularly to prevent the equaliser after Oswell robbed him in the box.

In the end, too much of a mountain to climb. But the second half line-up was more like it.

Special mention to the OAP Ebbsfleet fan hurling some remarkable language at us while she sat among her extended family, babies and all.

And the linesman who let Fleet play on despite the ball being a good metre into touch right next to him.

They should refuse to pay him as well.

You must have a short memory. Leslie and Adebola and at the end we were poor and propped up by 3 decent playets.

But these are mistakes that fans can see before the game, look at the live match thread for evidence of this. If fans know that Carrington and Wright is not a suitable midfield, why doesn't the man who watches them train every day! If fans can judge McGkashan as shockingly bad at Hartlepool why can't the manager!
it is all very worrying, making up for obvious mistakes that shouldn't have been made in the first place is not a good thing

good summary. Awful 1st half, we were easily second best and didn't look bothered. second half changes had us in the game and for a moment I thought we were on for our very own Istanbul moment but their generously proportioned goalie pulled off some excellent saves.
Oh , and yes , there seemed to be a ladies and babies enclosure with a particularly gobby grandma!!

Looking at rest of results , all in the play off debacle dropped pts so bizarrely we're still in it . Innit

Key issue for me was 3 new loanees all at once. Meant half the midfield and strikeforce hadnt played together and so felt like a pre-season game

A match that he wasn't in charge for?
