Not often we agree but I agree with you on this, to much tinkering for me, this result just papered over the cracks, the one positive for me was when Oswell came on he just needs a goal I think to kick start a run play him from the off I could see a potential partnership with Holroyd yesterday.

Back to reality next Saturday Barnet away who are in very good form.

It's a lot when it's practically ( in Braintree's situation ) half the team.

It's almost cup tie football from here on in so it's the team that wants it the most on day that will be the factor. We are lacking pace up top but the front 3 (4 with a fit Oswell) yesterday should have enough pedigree to win games for us if we can tighten up again at the back and take a bit more control of games.

A bigger concern for me is the situation with losing Lawlor, & Walker possibly for the season, the fitness of Summerfield and now the situation with Augustien. These are players who are capable of making sure we can control games, compared to our midfield 3 yesterday that compensate by working hard covering the ground.
Agree that Agustien would improve us on Wright as the latter has been exposed badly for his limitations in last few months.

"Capable of the odd performance". Who can forget hammering Salford on the Racecourse 5-1 three or so months ago ?.

Each season there are 3 or 4 players who score about 20 goals but few repeat the feat each season or are consistent throughout a campaign (Danny Rowe maybe a NL exception) so let's not think the likes of M Bonne, A Rooney or D Wright are guaranteed match winners in the play offs. We have a general problem of not scoring enough goals but doesn't mean we can't win games as our 75 points has proved.

Players who score 20 goals in this league usually end up playing league football, who would you rather Wrexham have up front Rowe or Beavon?

We all know the answer to that. They were lucky enough to pick him up and now, even if he isn't out of our price range, he will stay put or follow his ambition to play in the FL. It doesnt mean we need to fear Fylde anymore than they fear us, we just have to do a job on him.

The problem with Wright is that whilst he is a poor footballer at present he is our only goal threat from central midfield.

Until our strikers can hit a cow's arse with a banjo we're a bit stuck.
