I'd like to see him back here next season, he had his faults but the positives outweigh the negatives for me.
He seemed to enjoy it here so hopefully it happens.

Suggest read my posts

Yes he’s much better than Rutherford and Gas man and has some good skills , my view is that he’s too light weight in our current team , doesn’t track back and can’t head a ball. Would I be unhappy to see him with us no!! But only if we can recruit a better midfield around him. On his own, in this team, it won’t make a big difference to our end game.

I get the positive comments you are all making, but I’ve still got reservations

Tollit needs decent forwards to bear the physical brunt of the defenders.
I am not convinced by our 433 system as we dont have the players to suit it.

I still think 442 is the way to win this league which would mean Tollitt adapting to a LM role and applying some defensive duties.

Any formation can work if you recruit the right player for the right role. 4-4-2 doesn't have to be two banks of 4 and then two strikers. Plus the formation might be 4-4-2, but in defensive phases it's a 4-4-1-1 / 4-1-4-1 and in an attacking phase it's a 4-2-4, or any variation you can think of. Thing is we will never have players to suit, because we don't have a philosophy, we don't have a scouting team to identify players with the skills we need, we don't train enough etc etc. The only thing right at this club is the fans, everything else is amateurish.

Yes. As I said we dont have players to suit a 433 yet we shoehorn them into it.
If we have a midfield 3 then they need to be comfortable with the ball, unlike Wright.

Identifying players is crucial as I have stated many times. Signing Fondop was ok but not as main striker so the combination is also vital. We could have signed 3 forwards from NL north and south that would have been more effective.

With Lainton, Pearson, Lawlor, Kennedy as the basis for experience we need 2 Cms and 2 forwards and then work around that with a couple of loans a COE player plus up and coming young player from NL north.

Its the basics.

Getting the right combination is extremely difficult - over recent seasons we have too often played a front man who has been so isolated he has become totally ineffective - hasn't mattered who it is, same end result.
For the first time on Saturday we looked to have a nice combination upfront - Grant looked a different player and combined with Holroyd & Beavon we looked better in the last third than we have for some time - granted we were playing against poor opposition.
The introduction of both Oswell and Jennings added an aerial threat which up to that point had been missing - the bonus is with Jennings that he can actually get up the left flank and is about the only player who can put quality crosses into the box.

It might just be that instead of chopping and changing we leave it as it is and hopefully things improve in the last third for the remaining fixtures - perhaps Oswell is being used sparingly because of his injury - only BH knows the overall situation so although some may question team selection at times (we all do) we don't know the full story regarding illness and injuries.

Grant can't be as bad as some have made out - there's no doubt he has been poor but he was playing at L1 level - perhaps there is a player in there who needs coaxing out of his shell - perhaps with game time he will come good with a settled forward line around him.

Can't beat a man?

Would love us to sign him. Big potential there I think.
