Progress has been slow but the budget has increased with savings made off the field and some football fortune.
As for football strategy, it's the same for every club. To be successful!!
The type and style of football is down to the manager and I can see this changing to a more entertaining style in the summer with new recruitment.
We didn't fail to bring in a striker in January through lack of effort. No one wanted to sell or loan the players we wanted.
We probably ignored Blisset who went to Solihull as he'd signed for Macc the previous season after walking out of signing for us when his agent got him a £1800 a week deal with the club who had the smallest budget????
Why do you think Llay Dragon will be one of the first to complain if this happens? Have there been a ton of complaining posts from him I’ve just missed? Because I’ve always found his posts reasoned and well-balanced and responses like this just seem more and more as if people want to put down anybody who has any criticism at all about anything at the club.

Sadly you are mistaken.

There is no good reason not to have someone paid who runs the footballing side of the business. The club has wasted, and wasted, and wasted money but we are exactly where we started.

I can understand scaling back the youth system, but I can't understand there being no route to the first team. This route could also be used to keep fringe players fit and bring previously injured players back. That doesn't have to be a reserve team, but it could be behind closed doors friendlies against other teams in a similar situation. The job of organising these could be part of the DoFs (or whatever they are called) responsibilities. This could also help us produce saleable assets, because when the present player sales money dries up the cupboard is bare.

Being successful is an aim, it's not a strategy. You generally need one to achieve the other, not a rolling one year crap-shoot.

You are quite right. Llay is one of the more informed and reasonable posters.
My response was a reaction to his assertion that a Do F is the answer to all our problems. All clubs are guilty of "wasting" money. how much we've wasted is debatable and is based on individual perceptions.
Even at the top level Do Fs fall out with managers even when they have Millions to spend. The last thing we need is to involve someone who will cost us money which could be spent on the first team.
Long term, if we get promoted, I would see a role for a football administrator who works with the manager but not over him. Such a person could be involved in the youth set up and the resurrected CoE (when we're in the league.

You make reasonable points and to a degree I would concur with you if we were in the football league. I'd love to see one of the current crop of youngsters promoted to the first team squad as it helps with player retention at that level.
In essence we would be around a Million quid a year better off in the league and in a better position to support the youngsters, with compensation a right rather than relying on bigger clubs hand outs if they poach one of our lads.
Whilst being successful is an aim, the clubs strategy is to provide the funds to the manager to achieve that aim and give him all the support they can.
Diverting funds to another management tier will not achieve the aim.
We have Brian Flynn on board currently. There are very few who know more about players who might be available than him.

No! and never likely to be either. Wouldn't put up with the Sh!t thrown on here at fellow fans.
All of the board members I know are decent blokes and Wrexham through and through.
