Re: Halifax away
Definitely, last away game of normal season always has a good following. Full of happy clappers so no miserable tw@ts allowed.

Re: Halifax away
The Shay is a better ground than average in this crappy league. Views are good as well. The catering was an issue last time I went - a caravan with two in it. Some folks missed most of the first half as they were so determined to feed their faces. And the lovely toilets. Peeing against a black gloss painted wall. Quality. What greater incentive to gain promotion?

Catering - lots of clubs appear to be stuck in first gear - same mentality regardless if Bromley turn up on a Tuesday night with 20 fans or Wrexham turn up with 1,600 (as per Solihull / Chesterfield / Salford City). Many fans confronted with massive ques and the possibility of missing part of the match just don't bother. I can't knock the bog facilities - a black gloss painted wall of considerable length with a roof is fine - it's grounds like Solihull, Sutton and specifically moneybags Salford, where they are happy enough to sell fans as much ale as they can but only provide portokabins big enough for about 4 fans to use at a time. |

Can't find any capacity for the new North Stand / terrace behind the goal which is normally never opened unless they are expecting a large away following - perhaps they are planning to use it as a potential overspill if more than 1400 away fans turn up which could well happen as we took 1600 to Solihull, Chesterfield and Salford - if we beat Sutton on Friday and given it's the last away day of the normal league programme on a BH then there is a real chance we could exceed this figure by quite a few. We took 425 to Barnet last Saturday but that wasn't on a BH and just up the road in comparison to London. No advanced tickets (yet) so pay on the day does not bode well at the turnstiles for potential congestion - seems the days of handing money and change over are still very much with us - lets hope they don't run out of change. |
