the clean sheets have more to do with the defence in front of him than his ability...

Extremely harsh on Lainton who is a good keeper at this level as we will find out when he leaves

Perhaps Jussi ought to be commended too. Working with a top class coach can only benefit Lainton.

If we don't go up then you gotta think we would probably lose Pearson and Lainton next season.

Fondop under contract for next season but we're allowing Lainton to run down the clock.

Should have been signed on a 2 year in January but those clowns were too busy paying off Barrow and Newell's 3 year deals.

Changes at the top this summer please. We should never forget the scandal of January 2019
Idiotic comment. Newell got a small payoff but Barrow left of his own accord.
As for Lainton
More to do with the player keeping his options open as he wants a league team.
If no one comes in for him then we'll be in a good position to keep him on.

Certainly a candidate for player of the season based on the first half of the season.
Seems to be something most keepers don't do these days , especially in this League...Mind you, the six yard area is like a wrestling ring at set prices...

very good point Patrick. In recent years Blocking the movement of opposition players has more and more become the thing to do especially in set piece situations. In particular the blocking of the keeper to prevent him coming out for crosses. This does cause particular problems for smaller keepers like Lainton. The basic rule for the keeper is "if you come off the line for the ball you have to be sure you can get it otherwise stay put."
