I agree with this. Last year i used less than half of my available votes as I didn't see enough suitable candidates. If candidates do nothing but talk about how long they have been a Wrexham fan and how proud they would be to sit on the board then that is not sufficient to gain my vote. I want to see a clear statement of their skills they can offer and their vision for what they hope to achieve

It used to wind me up as well. Having stood on the Kop for 30 years isn't a requirement to be a successful board member. I notice the application form this year asks candidates to focus on their particular skills rather than this so we'll hopefully see some clearer personal statements with relevant information.

That may all be true however someone needs to carry the can for appointing GB then MN and then BH and allowing 200k to be wasted on poor signings through January.

Maybe the Board should clarify who made these decisions? If Mark was not part of them then he is safe if he was part of them then he has lost my vote.
After all this my club

Point of order: No one can be nominated if they don't want to stand. It is one of the rules that nominees MUST agree to stand before a nomination form can be submitted. It is explained in the AGM notice.

Some other posters here have assumed that there can only be four candidates for election to the Trust Board. That simply isn't the case:

Nominations for election can be accepted from as many correctly completed nomination forms as are submitted. However, only four of the candidates nominated can be voted on to the Board - those being the ones who receive the highest number of votes cast. All four could be new members if the votes
they receive exceed the numbers cast for any others.

(Please note also that the Board may co-opt additional members to the Board to carry out specific roles at any time, if required. Should there be four candidates or fewer nominated for the Board, there would be no requirement for an election, and those who had been nominated would be appointed automatically.)

I hope this helps.

So theoretically a member of the football board could be voted off at a Trust election, co-opted straight back on and retain a place on the football board given both can have un-elected cop-opted members?

That's how I read it. If a football club board member was also a WST board member and lost their WST seat in the election, this doesn't necessarily mean they lose their football club board seat.

Is the Xmas raffle the only fund raising initiative now?

Theoretically, yes. However, if the former Board member had been outvoted, then co-opting him/her back on would be contentious to say the least, given that he/she had just been outvoted. Appointing an unpopular candidate to the Club Board too would be flying in the face of Trust members' wishes, and would not therefore be democratic. Questions would need to be asked of the Trust Board for its members to attempt to justify such a controversial move (IMO)

Or alternately we employ that person to continue with the work they were previously doing as a volunteer.
