How did we end up with a dud attack?

Because this club absolutely destroys forward players.
Our style of play doesn't exist and we don't create anywhere near enough chances. Everything is so slow and predictable. Our defence isn't all that either, both full back positions are weak for starters.

But remember, none of this is the coaching staff fault.

a forward is only as good as the service they receive .... for years our strike force have been fed scraps from the defensive minded midfield.

Take Oswell according to the stockport fans I work with, he was a poacher hanging around the box, getting on the end of low balls and how do we play him ... as a target man 25/30 yards out from goal isolated with no one playing off him. we do not have a forward line that can effectively deal with a long ball, yet we continually play that way our midfield is the weakest link. This years strike force Holroyd, fondup, oswell, tolit etc need the ball to their feet in and around the box and they don't get it...if the "game plan" is the long ball we need another Danny Wright type player who already plays the hold up role, not trying to fit a player in that role as we are trying to do.

Main reason I lost interest , back to the drawing board and back to another season in this crap league I fear..

We're more concerned with keeping clean sheets....Keep a clean sheet..And pinch a goal ....

BH, tried to be more attacking when he first took over...Quickly realised this team wasn't up to it....If he wants a team that can dominate midfield, setting up chances for the strikers, he'll need about six new players......

Next season my first names on the exit door would be Rutherford, Roberts, Jennings, Wright, all the forwards a complete clear out,

Get a couple of wingbacks add some pace through the Middle and get a leader in midfield like Keates was.

The result yesterday was disappointing but I thought we had a better first half than Fridays Borefest.
Grant started well and was Ok for 45 minutes. In the second half he was pretty much a passenger as he looked knackered. He's not suited to the role we play him in as a forward and sadly he's too slow to play just behind the strikers?
Holroyd scored a goal. He must have thought his job was done 'cos he never bothered coming out for the second 45.
Summerfield started brightly but too soon reverted to type, passing back rather than being positive.
Roberts, Weakest link on the field.
Wright, Good in parts but dreadful at times. Can't make this lad out. Makes some useful interceptions and then gives them the ball back.
Oswell. Not fit enough to start.

Halifax. Stole the game, but that seemed to be the way they wanted to play. Pitch was shocking. I've defended dual use of pitches, as far as Rugby league is concerned, in the past but if that's what you get after a few games then I've changed my mind.

Need to bin Wright in the summer. He's had two seasons here now, no progress has been made in terms of his development and for 99% of the time he's still a passenger in games. On Friday he along with Rutherford might as well of sat in the stands.
Both need to go and as for Roberts, he is going backwards at an alarming rate. I don't get why Carrington isn't first choice right back, it makes no sense at all.
