If CD is the
de facto boss, and calling the shots, it would be wrong and counterproductive. BH is the manager, and it is up to him to set the agenda. He has been here long enough, now, to realise our strengths and weaknesses. I think he genuinely wants to play a more attacking and, therefore, a more entertaining game but he got his fingers burnt against Barrow, when we were blown away by more than the gale!
Jussi is supposedly heading back to Finland soon, so we will need a new GK coach for next season, regardless. I am unsure what BF and CD contribute; not because they don’t have essential skills but because they are only here one day a week, and on match days.
The knives are out for Spencer, the management team and many of the players. Some of the criticisms are fair, and reflect the post-Ricketts cock-up, as well as the general air of frustration around the club.
God knows what the atmosphere would be like if we had finished alongside Aldershot - another proper club on its uppers - or had the financial mismanagement of Ebbsfleet. We know the squad is not as good as we want but we will have to wait to see just how good or bad BH actually is at this management malarkey. At least we have the distraction of the POs to keep us ‘entertained’ over the next few weeks.
Life certainly ain’t great but, equally, it isn’t all bad, either!
