Default Congratulations

To the players, staff and board for achieving the playoffs.

I think that everyone would have accepted this at the start of the season.

There are six teams in the playoffs. We have beaten them all this season with the exception of Fylde.

Leaving them aside ( I hope someone knocks them out ) then our record against the rest is not too shabby.

Salford 5-3
Solihull 1-1
Harrogate 2-1
Eastleigh 5-1

This suggests that we don't have to go into these playoffs with any fear. We are not underdogs. We are Wrexham.

84 points is a great achievement, and represents good progress.

Hughes has done well to be fair. His first managerial post, but he's kept us ticking over and 4 wins in the last 5 means we go into the play-offs with form.

Nothing to be scared of, but all teams involved will be saying the same.

I laugh when I read good progress no 2 seasons are the same this season is one of the weakest it's been since we came down.

Yes congratulations for making the play offs but without the Barrow fiasco and Hughes deciding to experiment after losing at Leyton Orient we could of won this league instead of going into a lottery of the play offs.

What do you expect from Wrexham fans? This constant talking us down is really tiresome, FOG. You don't rate our chances whatsoever. That's fine, we get it. I just don't understand why you jump on any positive comment and turn it into a punch-up.

Anyway, thread over before it's even begun. Ding-ding.

14 point improvement this year. 24 point improvement over the last year of the Mills fiasco. Playoffs is where everyone thought we needed to be at the start of the season and unlike last year where we gacked it up at the end after Keates left, here we are. Bryan Hughes deserves credit for seeing it through to the end.

This league is so weak that Salford brought in Adam Rooney and Matt Green and still couldn't win the title outright.

What if we wouldn't have wiped out Salford 5-1, followed it up with a 1-0 win over Solihull and Graham Barrow wouldn't have been offered the job? What if Barrow would have turned the job down because he really didn't want it in the first place? What if Sam Ricketts would have been here the whole season? What if Leyton Orient wouldn't have scored a fluke goal on a deflection? Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

The best team will get promoted and I believe our chances are as good as anyone's to survive the playoffs.

TT.... you are wasting your time and effort. He/she (I am an equal opportunity disdainer) seems to revel in negativity and no matter how much you, or like-minded fans such as myself like to see some positives from some gradual process and even dare to hope that we can win the next three games, they will always find something to criticize. It is their raison d’être and they feed off the reactions we post.

That is not to say I am satisfied with the way the season has gone. As Pagl and others closer to the team have correctly pointed out there are many issues on and off the field that need addressing, but the constant sniping by FOG and others of similar ilk is tiresome to say the least.

I'd say the league was a better quality this year than it was the year before. It says a lot about the team that 4th place is a disappointment. We've got a decent chance to go up.

If we lost the playoffs, we'd need to push the boat out (and, I will grant Wrexham doesn't exactly have a recent history of doing so) but the foundation is there for a league-winning squad next season should we fail to go up this time.

It's been one of the most competitive leagues since we have been down here with several clubs competing for the top spot instead of one team running away with the title. Tranmere finished 2nd last season with 82 points ten points behind Macclesfield is an example of this. In 2017 we had 58 points, last season we got 70 and this season 84 which I would call progress.
