Sounds as if the Club informed the Wxm District 4 months ago of dates.....

I was corrected on the Spirit of 78 site as I'd complained that the board should prioritise this fixture and not leave it late. My apologies...

Especially when it comes to the youth system, who knows what we'll actually be left with if/when we reach the promised land.
And the irony is the focus on getting back into the league is at least partly driven by the fact that so many people insist that there is no ambition to do so.

Who knows what will be left if and when we reach the promised land? I think we do know - scorched earth. There being no Young Player of the Year award this time ought to have woken up more people than it has. It’s not easy of course, especially with a need to make new training ground arrangements, but it is dismissed so easily that you have to wonder who cares?

Unless more fans start voting then not much will change sadly.
The frustration of being on the outside is real but there are things to pick at here. I always vote and have no inside track at board level, and when the acquisition of operational control of the Racecourse came up the numbers voting increased hugely. These things, plus the low numbers who usually vote, can mean that change doesn’t require the huge numbers it ought, and that if an issue does hit home enough it can get backing. The most worrying issue around voting is around the second disabled platform; that the board were prepared to issue a guiding statement against it, and that having seen the result be the opposite to the one they wanted there has been a desire to move the goalposts on it.

Any chance of quoting the post linked to for those of us who haven’t been accepted to join the site (and fezbob if he’s still banned!)?

There’s a fairly full explantation of all this on the Wrexhamafc web site. Including how, apparently, the board wrote to the Youth League in January to explain the situation.
Not looking to defend their actions but it has been known in local football areas for sometime

To be fair that would not surprise me either as those that run the youth league in Wrexham are about as far away from competent as you can get.

Not at club level it hasn't.

"Moving the dates forward would of been a non starter as the youth league still haven’t finished their season. Cancelling league fixtures to accommodate cup matches on this scale would lead to problem down the line with referee availability for rearranged midweek fixtures.
4 months notice should of been more than enough time for the youth league hierarchy to inform their clubs that the Racecourse was provisional this season because of the reasons outlined."

The 4 months notice coming from this article, I believe:

Cheers! Definitely seems like there should have been more communication from the youth league to clubs about it.
