Lord Darlington runs the show, we all know it and we all saw it last night. He picks the managers.

Of course we should of tried to get Askey but don't forget there were many on here who yet again fell for the clubs propaganda in trying to get a rookie in.

Dennis Lawrence, apparently he ticked a lot of boxes, what those boxes were no one knows, pure fantasy probably.

Then they fell for more when they gave GB the job in spite of it being clear he didn't want it.

Then they fell for him being allowed to give Newell the assistants job, another huge gamble that didn't need to be taken and surprise surprise within weeks both are gone.

Amateur.

Then to compound things further some genius (guess who) had the brain wave to appoint a total rookie when we had the chance to win the league.

I don't blame BH at all, he's been thrown into a job he's not ready for.

The blame lies firmly above him, but they aren't man enough to admit it.

I think you'll find Keates a Darlo fan so to speak , so nothing changes there , another ref to former player , when does it stop .

BUt where is the money coming from
To be fair I appreciate what you are saying, people will measure his success on the above and anything less the usual derogatory remarks will ensue.
However, your comment 'BUT where is the money coming from' is the whole point.
If he has to compete on peanuts and manages an average season, maybe clinching a playoff place compared with limitless funds and securing promotion. Which is the better manager?
Ask Pep to build a squad from scratch with minimal budget. Would City be experiencing the same success?
There are one or two who have done well,Shaun Dyche,Eddie Howe eg to me are superb managers .Wouod they replicate Pep/Klopp et al if they had the same budget? However is maintaining Premiership status regarded as success? No idea to be honest but we all know neither will win Champions League with respective clubs budgets!!

PS ...and yes I know there are exceptions out there but I'm talking in general.

The worrying thing ( i've no stats here ) is the first half is usually dire and goalless and not until the second half and even then when substitutes come on do they compete or look like doing something , who does the teamtalk coz it fails .

I don't get to many matches and last night I was very disappointed at his lack of passion. Does the long contract make him feel too secure?

I agree. I think both him and Ricketts would do a decent job, but you have to have some dignity about it. Cant accept either back, ever.
