Who would you have as Manager then?

Simple question with a difficult answer.
Im not knowledgable enough to make a poll of names but genuinely interested in who the more football wise supporters on here would like at the helm.
A pal of mine I was talking to said offer it to John O’Shea, who’s just retired. I don’t even know if he’s got the badges but it’s a bit left field, but maybe that’s what we need. I don’t know, I just want out of this damned league.

should have been askey but the board instead wanted a footgolf manager lol

Re: Who would you have as Manager then?

I have always wanted Askey as our manager but he is at Port Vale now. John Coleman at Accy would be my dream appointment....but probably just that...a dream.

Re: Who would you have as Manager then?

Yeah I would have liked an Askey type instead of a young ex pro. No grantee we would have gone up.

Brian Flynn if he would go full time and Hughes’s assistant.
Darlington should go , but I don’t think he will.

If I felt another managerial switch would achieve anything then I'd name someone, but I think our problems go higher than that.

Askey had superb credentials and was the logical choice

I like Brian Hughes, but his appointment was another bizarre risk

What about bringing Keith Hill (ex Rochdale manager) as assistant to BH. Might be a step down but he might fancy the opportunity to guide a rookie manager without all the pressures of being manager

Doubt it Keith Hill has ambitions to manage in Premier League but I do know he fancied the job a few years ago

Ask Darlington, he's in charge.

I've seen no impact from having Flynn as assistant.

I think his managerial ship has long sailed.

Beginning to think the Flynn appointment was another publicity PR stunt by the board. If rumours are true he has net to no involvement and is hardly ever here.

Re: Who would you have as Manager then?

First Choice. Askey
Second Choice Askey
Third Choice Askey
He has been my Choice for 3 Seasons and I cannot believe for the life of me that the last 5 Managers that the Board have picked, have been the
“Outstanding Candidates” for the Wrexham job.
Oh added to that Darlington would be out on his ear.

Flynn is another pensioner who's day has gone football has moved on since his day, we don't want a rookie and we don't want a pensioner who's hunger has gone Hurst who took Grimsby up would be a goods shout.

Re: Who would you have as Manager then?

We need a Justin Edinburgh type of manager. Someone who knows the league and has good contacts to sign us players who score goals!

The board always appoint someone who agrees with everything they say.

They look for someone who can be manipulated and controlled.

My argument is why the board appoint a manager but have to have the backroom staff that are in place now. Surely the manager will bring his own?

Its a silly setup!

They do, but if Hughes stays around our problems could get a lot worse and we could need to replace players we weren't intending on losing.

If you want Hughes to stay can we insist he wears glasses. Him and Darlington must be the only people who can’t see that hoof ball to midgets and prima donnas against giant won’t work.

Re: Who would you have as Manager then?

In Hughes' defence, he didn't balls the position we were in up. 4th is a respectable finish all things considered. He steadied the ship after the chaotic January and didn't get a transfer window to pick which players he got in. Apart from a few loans and Agustien, he pretty much had to play with the hand he was dealt by Graham Barrow.

I'm not saying it's all sunshine and rainbows with him, but many managers would have Andy Davies'd it up given the circumstances.

Re: Who would you have as Manager then?

All depends primarily on who gives the best PowerPoint presentation.

The top ten move into round 2 and then get assessed by the scoring mechanism, which by the way is available for hire at a small fee, which goes towards next seasons playing budget.

Round 3 weeds out anybody that doesn’t send Carl Darlington a Xmas card. Should this leave us with nobody, the Assistant Manager will then take charge. Should they not want the job, the person in question will be announced as manager and host the monthly “meet the manager” event in the cent.
