It was also blowing a b@stard gale during that barrow game; conditions we never dealt with.

I agree with Cardiff Red that Hughes got his tactics badly wrong for that game but wasn’t helped by Walker and Summerfield being injured. I have no worries about people making mistakes as long as you learn from it.
That was the exact reason he still needed to play 3 in midfield. Playing a central 2 with our best 2 playing would have been stupid. Doing it with your reserve midfield resulted in what we got.

We'd just lost to the league leaders late on. It needed stability and to ensure we picked up at least a point.

Roberts and Gashman was never a combination.
First goal was a complete mess between them and from there it got worse.

The least said the better as it just shows how much we fked it up.
Yeah there was, it was a general feeling of 'we've bottled it again' hence the atmosphere was flat.

Like you say I don't mind him trying stuff like this (perhaps you could criticise the game he chose to try it) as long as he learns from it which I'm sure he did. In fact he probably learnt more from that one game than all the others combined.
And here in lines the problem of us continually picking up newbie managers. they make mistakes on our time costing us valuable points. Barrow home was 3 points dropped that would have put us into a home semi final

It couldn't have been McCallum as he's just signed for Solihull
