We'll see by the way the team plays next season whether Hughes is top dog.

i hope he spends the summer doing some basic coaching, it still shocks me now how no wrexham player is able to head a ball to another wrexham player, the ball headed absolutely anywhere with no control or technique, more often landing at the feet of the opposition than their own players.there is no excuse for this, appalling

our defensive record is good because we defend from every where on the field, the much maligned Rutherford may have the title of winger but he is used to harry defenders and break up play.... part of darlington's ohhh I mean Hughes game plan.

as others have said he came here with an injury which he carried whilst here and his early days at the neighbours. He was gutted when he wasn't offered a contract.
I liked him and think he got short changed but think he is similar to Young and certainly won't fit into the high ball game we seem to have adopted.

I guess training doesnt get you fit here.
To be fair to Morrell I don't think he has much chance to use him did he? He had surgery soon after signing, unless I'm misremembering.

Wilkin tried using him early on but he didn't seem to fit into our system. A shame, he always had something about him and has gone on to prove he's a good player.

Didnt he follow AM and not play under Wilkin?
Memory might be going after all the drugs now. Non-recreational of course.

Definitely played under Wilkin, in fact he scored to put us top very briefly.

Yeah he went back to Tamworth with AM. I remember him as being a bottler in the tackle (he still is) and running across the pitch and he was the same at Chester. When he came to us, he acted like a big time charlie and pissed lots of players off in the first instance. All said, people can change and in the NL and above he averages 5.3 games per goal. For us he was closer to 8. His 30 in July, never inspired or excited me so I dont get the frenzy on signing him.

Summer is the most frustrating part of the year for me (football wise) Rumours, speculation on this player and that player. Agents holding clubs to ranson saying his player will sign, then a week before we kick off the sign for someone else. Then we have gone down the pecking order for a lesser player.

I want to give Hughes the benefit of the doubt, but does he have the knowledge for players we want or will he go down the Agent route. Will Flynn step forward with his connections?

Very much this. And let's be honest, jf you were given a choice between Durrell and Grant a few months ago there would only be one winner.
