Salford got promoted with players mainly from leagues below. Supplemented by expensive experienced heads. Easy to suggest they were bankrolled to the point where everyone was a top player poached from league one. Not the case by a long stretch. Just recruited better.

These types of players don't always come cheap, wasnt Vardy beginning to be highly rated before Fleetwood were first go get his signature.

Just had a quick look at Salfords main X1 I am struggling to see many players who came from divisions below!

Said it the other day. Look at their winning starting line up from the play off final. Players released by Chester etc and Rhyl. 5 never having played in the league etc

Well their in play off final line up their two big summer signings, Rooney and Danny Lloyd, from the SPL and league 1 respectively, weren't involved. Then you had two players who were with them in 2017/2018- Touray and Piergianni who were both from non league. Then there is Maynard who turned down a deal to renew his contract at Tranmere. Hogan from Gateshead and Whitehead from Macclesfield who were two of the better players in the National league the previous year (Whitehead could have played in league 2 with Macc but chose staying down with Salford instead) Nathan Pond who dropped from Fleetwood in league 1 (same as the keeper Neal) Redmond FROM man United who was trialling with league 1 and 2 teams, Gafney from League 1 Bristol rovers.

It's an expensively put together team, I'm not sure why you'd pretend it wasn't? Although I think it does have a lot of national league experience in it, which is important too.

Maynard play in the FL? Don't think so. Neal has, besides Port Vale yes ago, been reserve keeper everywhere he's been. Pond is ancient.
The rest are NL players for the first time and signings from from current NL sides. They are paying OTT for players because these players agents demand it with their owners infamous wealth. They are top dollar for a couple or three. The rest are comparible with players we've got.

Lainton to Neal
Kennedy to Maynard

all across the back four , now that would be an excellent start to the summer recruitment 🙂
