The rest are NL players for the first time and signings from from current NL sides. They are paying OTT for players because these players agents demand it with their owners infamous wealth. They are top dollar for a couple or three. The rest are comparible with players we've got.

I didn't say Maynard had played in the football league. But him, Hogan and Whitehead were all top players in our league.

If the point you are making is that you don't need to look at the FL to get good players then I agree.

We only finished a few points behind them so I would say our team last year was pretty comparable with theirs. The difference came in their strikers.

Strikers..... And an experienced manager. Just like the league champions. Never seen a rookie win this league.

Adam Rooney would not have got anywhere near 20 in our set up. He does very little besides score. Relies on service...... We don't let players go over the half way line. He'd have done well to get 12.

What I do not understand is why Yosser has made his potential recruitment more limited by offering an extension to Rutherford and to a lesser extent Carrington with the former clearly not good enough and latter not considered first choice when fit.Add this to 30 something Summerfield and his dodgy calf-astounded if does not miss at least 1/3 of season,if stays.Calf injuries regularly reoccur when start for over 30s.
Yosser stated after Eastleigh that he wanted a rebuild over Summer-he has made it a lot harder by limiting number can bring in and offering terms to the above 3.

Exactly. He either hasn't got the money or doesn't trust the recruitment process IMO.

He is the recruitment process. He knows his budget so its down to him now.
Retaining the core that were 4th isnt so bad but it does now depend on the replacements. I think there are still some weak links in the team and he will have to address those in Jan. say no more

So we have RB, CM, CF and possibly Tollitt to recruit then it depends if others accept. Looks like loan players might be limited - wahaaayyy.

I think there is the question of Fondop and possibly Wright from the contracted players as well.

Fingers crossed now for BH and his persuasive powers.
