Somehow think a young, hungry striker who has found the net in the league below has a much better chance of firing us high up the table than some of the ex-Football League, over the hill, "hard working" strikers we've had. Beavon, Holroyd, McLeod, Anyinsah to name a few.

Would be a decent signing.

As we know there are no certs. Oswell was reported as decent but struggled to get in a poor Morecambe team. Is he really injured?

Its a judgement on up and coming or experience that can still perform e.g. Akinfenwa.
Obviously a combination gives a better chance. Is Oswell a new potential and Fondop too much of a ‘raw’ combination? Especially with my mate Grant.

We should be looking at lower leagues especially for 1 of the FBs IMO. A bit of pace would be an added bonus.

If we could get Tollitt would like to see him left in a midfield 4 and JJ would be good support behind him. Just my opinion on how I see winning this league.

Maybe.

I’d hope that if we were to sign him, we have been to watch him numerous times previously and sign him as a prospect, rather than a guaranteed starter. Obi Aunora scored a fair few in the league below as well, but I don’t remember clubs from above clamouring to get his signature.

Acording Leitch -Smith a few months back, who was with Oswell at Morecombe, Oswell had a hernia problem all season, which matched snippets I had read on here about him needing a groin op in the summer.

Below is a quote from BH regarding the type of player he is looking to sign. The last sentence is a bit disconcerting as it suggests that we can only really afford players who may have failed at other clubs but who generally have a good reputation. Rather than players who have recently proved to be in good form.

"This is our 12th season in the division and we need personnel who are going to make a difference.
"Characters and leaders, players who are hungry. It has not quite happened for them at certain clubs but they want to show they are good players."

Nowadays there are so many kids discarded by the big clubs, many disappear because they just haven't fulfilled their promise or havent the attitude to bounce back, but some real gems just need a second opportunity or a chance of first team footy.
