Would you? Have you forgotten how poor he was at the end of the season when we dropped out of the play offs? His hamstrings barely last just another Beavon who can't last 90 mins, couldn't get in a struggling Port Vale side on loan and they cut it short, goes to Halifax in January and scores 2 goals until the end of the season, when he wasn't out injured.

Yes I would! he scored 8 in 17 games for us last year, our top scorer this season was 6!

Everyone has different opinions, but for me he’s worth a shot.

I understand your point about the 8 goal burst but he's barely scored anywhere including us since then, we need a 20 goal man... Look at Tranmere and dare I say it Newport they have regular goal scorers and one of them will be in league one next season while we still tit around down here signing basically shit.

I've found the whole league two play offs a bit depressing. Some decent football by decent footballers (including ones we have let go) whilst we have been fiddling around whilst Rome burns.

The wage cap as such is our current top earner that is fact as its the top amount.

I dont think the club have set an actual cap figure and I would expect each contract is negotiated separately.

Paying someone £2k a week is a huge chunk of the budget but would it be worth it if the wages of Grant and Fondop combined were £2k and we could get Rowe, McCallum or Cook. Just asking.

Surely a wage cap is an amount you must not go beyond not just whatever your top earner is on at a particular point in time?

Not interested in getting into a nodding dogs v sh*tting dogs argument but surely someone randomly stating we have a wage cap with no supporting evidneve to bash the board then stating its fact because no one can disprove it isnt something we should all then accept as received wisdom is it?

For what it's worth I have no idea if we have cap or not but having one is probably sensible business as long as you could flex it slightly if a dream player was pennies over the cap.
