I completely agree with it, its just the notion that we're suddenly going to be bidding for under contract, star players. You just need to take a step back and look at our transfer policy.

Grant - Fleetwood wanted rid
Oswell - Morecombe wanted rid

Kidderminster have said they will not be selling their under contract star player unless their valuation is met. It's pretty obvious that 50k is below their valuation. I'm sure in the years since Vardy there are many, many more league clubs looking at NLN (and below) more closely and these players are just going to bypass us.

Yes, I'd love to bid and buy players but realism is needed. Forget about the token Rowe bid (where is that even confirmed) and realise that this club does not have the recruitment policy we all wish it did.

When did we last take a player that another club wanted to keep?

Macintosh from the Dog and Duck, we doubled his wages to £60 a game.

Yes I suggested buying a player and it was based on the fact we bid for Rowe in Jan (albiet a token gesture), we paid a fee to buy Grant out and a fee for Oswell.
Given the £200k was nowhere near spent as I keep getting reliably informed then I assume there is money in the pot plus the Ward money waiting for the taxman LOL.

Kiddy recruit locally and my point/suggestion is we should look at similar.
The bin dippers took their rated FB so what reason is there to think we could not attract a player either.

Given our recruitment recently again I assume that we are not aware of up and coming players as we very rarely sign any.
Tilt being a recent great example of what could be done.

Not sure why anyone disagrees with getting better players from other clubs.
No. Not targeted at you. Your getting too sensitive.
Was a generalisation.
Would love to see better players who have skill and vision but they're as rare as hen's teeth.
Some of the players suggested would have to relocate. take a wage cut and drop out of the league. Unless the target is mid 30's and looking for a player assistants job and a place to do his badges, then it's not very realistic.
We have a fairly healthy budget but it has to support 18 - 20 players, year on year.
Reinvigorating the youth system and using them in the squad gives ius a better chance of good players. Picking up rough diamonds from NLN and polishing them is another way.

I didnt take it as a dig so not being sensitive
I am comfortable with my opinion on local recruitment and think we should look at a mininum of 1 per season as a strategy. I would expect us to pay more than NLN so no pay cut required.

Progression through COE is obviously where we also want to be but thats tough now we dont have league funding. For me the board really do need to encourage an investor in this area. Reward will be from future sales. Yes a gamble.

Given the current assistant situation it would seem to make financial sense to encourage someone who could still perform and do their badges.

When did we last have an 18-20 man squad? We support about a 30 man squad and about 5 of those we never see. And repeat.

Can't recall anytime last season that we had a squad of up to 30.

I would agree with you regarding the poor loanees we had but we also got a few good ones. It seems a bit Pick and Mix.

Ok its usually around 25-28 man squad. Still flies in the face of what the last 3 managers said pre season.
