Wafer thin probably describes the financial rewards.

Each to his own. I assume we have no choice other than to enter.

Delusions of Grandeur? I may have misunderstood you but where has anyone said we are too good or big to play in this?

The moans (and pretty justified) are about having to fit in extra games, travel and the risks of injuries etc.

As others have said, I am ok with us playing in the trophy as our rivals also play in it. This is just adding extra games for little reward, whether we play our reserves, kids or not.

We obviously have no choice but to enter, but I really hope we just play the kids and fringe players.

The rumour on one of the other threads that some players have the dreaded “30 games” contracts would (if true) mean that fringe and youth players are more or less nailed on for this comp.

Worrying, but you would hope if players aren't performing or turn out to not be good enough, that they don't hit that 30 game point...

If they are successful and we are challenging at the top then I could live with it for a few..

Wasn't it Rooney we were having to play of the bench when at the time he was our main scoring threat?

If we progress past the first game it will be interesting to see who has the most clout with the National League, the SFA or BT as BT has picked the Chesterfield game for television. Which game is moved to a different date I wonder, the cup game or the league game?

Will be interesting to see the outcome if the situation comes about.

Cups always take priority over league games I think...
