37 games in the 98 point season, that team is so far ahead of last seasons its ridiculous.
He was paid petrol money for months.

Limited ability but another player who did a great job for us complimenting Keates and Harris and making up for Fowlers lack of match fitness.

Sometimes it can just click between a player and a club, a lot of it is to do with complimenting other players. I think Joe Clarke is an example of this. He's pretty much dropped down the league's since we released.

The point being. He was young and very cheap. He potentially could have kicked on (like obeng, Tilt, moult etc). In the end he was a solid player that did more than fill in.
Carrington would fall down the leagues for certain. With no potential sell on and more expensive than Clarke.

Both in the end have had similar effect, but there was at least potential for us to have a better player and potentially a sell on.

Signing the likes of Carrington shows the lack of trust in recruitment for me. Experienced heads should be nailed on starters in my opinion.

62 points from 36 games with Roberts in the team 60 from 29 with Carrington playing. They will of course both played some games.

See obeng/pogba/Joe clarke/mangan/Ashton/Harris as players brought in on trial for evidence of what's possible with the right recruitment.
Exactly people think just cos he is cheap lets sign him on. I would prefer one of our own youngsters to be backup and they can improve over time whereas Carrington is only going to get worse. Plus people want us to score more and call for him being our main RB. That's really going to work isn't it, he is atrocious going over the halfway line he gets a nose bleed and passes it sidewides. You won't win anything with a team of Carringtons.

In Morrells disastrous final season Clarke was probably our best player. Seven goals from midfield too.

He's another easy target like Hunt. But again we've had a lot worse than Clarke and I feel he deaerves a measure of respect for the time he had here.

Clarke, Carra not so much Hunt but need better players around them. Clarke did his job with Keates etc. but when he was a key player he was found wanting.
Carra is the same, struggles if he has to lead midfield.

Codswallop.

The fact that folk are delighted he has signed on again shows just how far the footballing bar is dropping.
