See obeng/pogba/Joe clarke/mangan/Ashton/Harris as players brought in on trial for evidence of what's possible with the right recruitment.
Amen. Wish you would post more often.

It amazes me how the likes of Rutherford, Wright, Clarke etc get to play professional football because they run round a bit.

Carra is the same, struggles if he has to lead midfield.
Yeah a team of those sorts of players and you don't win anything. But they let the better players play so have a role to play. None of those mentioned are actively bad players, whatever some people say.

Rather than inviting Leo Smith to pre season , we should’ve given that opportunity to Kemy. When fully fit I think he could’ve been the creative midfielder we’ve needed. In fact I think there’s more chance of him being that player than Summerfield.

Indeed we know Augustein has the talent but not the fitness. Does anyone seriously see the point in indulging Smith any longer? There’s been 5 managers since he signed his famous deal and not one of them has rated him. To me it smacks of we’ve got no money and might need to re-sign him if we are desperate.

He hasn't even been getting a game in the Low has he? 21 now, not still 18.

Agree with this I too would rather of seen Augustien back for pre-season he has more talent than Smith & Wright put together, which wouldn't be hard as Wright is the pits.

I can only assume that BH is content with the midfielders currently at the club (if Summerfield stays) or he thinks he can get better then Augustien. I hope its the latter.

We need:
Two central midfielders.
One to replace Walker who can run a game like Fowler and Keates used to and another who can actually control a football, pass, doesn't vanish for large parts of games and can get from box to box.

Three forward players, preferably two wide players who do more than just run around a lot to no effect.
Tollitt is a done deal apparently, plus crewered said we have a striker who has agreed to sign.
So that leaves one more, hopefully pace and power in abundance. I would love to see Pyke back here, he was just starting to come good and look the part. But I don't see it as he finished the season at Rochdale.
