It’s another myth ‘gets stuck in’ I honestly can’t remember him making a tackle, it was the same myth with Joe Clarke and look how quick he tumbled down the league.

No pace.
Tackles once every half dozen games
Crosses into the stand/kop.
Scores once or twice a season.
Assists only against bottom half sides.
Preferred club position of part of front 3-still having nightmares of Barrow e.g. Fylde away knowing would not score with him,Grant and Beavon upfront.
Deverdics even was quicker and more skilful-Rutherford would not have scored his Harrogate goal.Demeanour let Dev down.
Think fans perfectly entitled to question his re-signing -the speed contract signed very telling too.

A fit Manny is a boost - allows us to rotate back 3
We offered Rutherford a contract - so are we saying we cant find better
Grant - has a retirement plan built into his contract and he has decided to stay - pay him off

I agree - at least he does try to attack the opposition back line - personally I like to see him in the team.....

He lacks physicality (pathetic tackler) , cannot challenge in the air (a mixture of his height coupled with inability to jump) and cannot beat a player. I thought all ‘wingers’ were either jinky or fast? Just gets bypassed or trodden on by determined opponents. He’s the best we can get?

I think I must be watching a different player ! I mainly go to away games ,often with low crowds . Rutherford is always tracking back , putting in a shift and holding his own . He is not the most creative but a very good team player . When Wrexham are losing on a cold Winters night , in a ground with little atmosphere you see the true characters of the players . Rutherford never gives up .

I am happy that he is staying for another year . Rutherford is not the problem . It’s the constantly changing tactics that have let us down . Letting Fondop go when we going into winter was a bad decision . He is not the finished article but creates havoc amongst opposition defenders and I believe that him and Beavon would have formed a decent partnership . Poor Beavon was up front on his own and isolated with painfully slow build up play . Sometimes you need to change tactics midway through a game and go route one , particularly when playing surfaces are poor and opposition centre backs are limited .

Totally agree with you about Rutherford. I was annoyed at Beavon being played in the middle to be honest with you. A lot more affective out wide.
