You’re a right board happy clapper on here. Are you Spencer Harris or one of his other cronies? I’m intrigued

As much as people want to beat the club board up, almost everyone would have done the same things in the same situation. If people are saying they should have said no to him when he said he wanted the job then frankly, that's just someone with 20/20 hindsight!
It was all about the exact timing though. Number 7 happening quickly after 6 and the board knew for weeks, even rolling him out for meet the manager.
Then the secretive stuff.

Wrap it up all you like

I think if it was worded as an entertainment the value was garbage that would make more sense than the position we finished.

He signed on as permanent manager BEFORE Salford (18th December). So that is wrong.

Weren't we told that he told the Club Board he did not want to remain in the job BEFORE the meet the manager evening, something like 7th January mentioned as a date he advised them?

You've left out the bit where they appointed him as number 2 - on a 2 and a half year contract (presumably to be Dennis Lawrence assistant).

And how do you know the 7 facts ?

Surely playing pool in the Turf doesn’t entitle you to know everything that is happening ? Or maybe all the “nodding” qualifies you for a statutory right to know ?

Well, this seems to support points 1,2,3,6 and7
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46604277

Point 4 is factually correct.
The only one that could be disputed due to lack of any information is point 5.

Point 4 is not correct.

He was appointed 18/12. We played Salford 26/12.

Sorry, ok, only half correct.
I take it that the other points are correct?

1.He told the board he did not want the job after Ricketts left.

2. They began the search for a new manager.
Before appointing a new manager they appointed Barrow as their number 2 on a 2 and a half year contract.
The new manager never materialised.
3 and 5 are unknowns.
6. Is a simple fact.
7. Would the in with weeks later 16th December to Early January he told the club he did not want to continue.

The club still put him up in front if a meet the manager meeting and kept him till 5th February - days after the transfer window slammed shut.
