And that’s the crux of the whole thing. Point 7. The date he told them that he no longer wanted the job. Does anyone have this?

The new manager never materialised.
3 and 5 are unknowns.
6. Is a simple fact.
7. Would the in with weeks later 16th December to Early January he told the club he did not want to continue.

The club still put him up in front if a meet the manager meeting and kept him till 5th February - days after the transfer window slammed shut.
I agree with you but a slight amendment. Barrow signed his 2.5 year assistant deal BEFORE Ricketts left not after. Rickets requested that GB's contract length match his own. The board decided to not tell the fans (again!!) and save it for a bad news day when they needed to boost their stock. That good news day came when the fans raged at Ricketts jumping ship, the board looked in the good news story cupboard and it fitted perfectly to reveal the "loyal old graham" story and hey presto the heat on the board cools down.
Board in manipulating fans shocker again.

Let’s take the date mentioned above of the 12th January as Barrow telling the board he wanted out.
On 5th February he resigns and leaves.
I’d go along with those dates so, what would you do?
Do you keep a lid on it, giving time to look for a replacement, keep the players calm at a critical time of the season and not rock the boat. Try and look “ business as usual”.
OR
Do you come out with the news that he’s going, that a search for a replacement is under way and that as a result, no transfer action, as he’d be gone in a few weeks?

Personally I would have come clean and have a clear conscience.

Trouble is, whatever course of action taken would have resulted in accusations and arguments I suspect.

As much as people want to beat the club board up, almost everyone would have done the same things in the same situation. If people are saying they should have said no to him when he said he wanted the job then frankly, that's just someone with 20/20 hindsight!
But most of the people saying that were saying when he was appointed that he was the wrong man - how can you claim this is hindsight?!

There's some truth in that. (A lot on here were critical)
There is however some truth in the fact that people have said we've appointed the wrong man whenever we've employed a manager and that probably applies to the length of time we've been a football club.

How many managers have we appointed who previously stated in public they didn't want the job?

I still can't believe they did a meet the manager with GB knowing he wanted out.
The whole thing was a farce.

Still at least the board have acknowledged this and given assurances that it won't happen agai... oh wait. they haven't.

No accountability. No humility. Pissed on their own importance.
