The last two years aside we have had no luck in cups ever. I see it as a rebalancing of luck we've not had before.

Similarly with the league. After going bust due to the acts of a conman, and banished into England by our own FA, I'm happy to say that I think if anyone deserved a helping hand from a naive millionaire it was us.

I'm sure if wrexham were to publically say they were looking for external investment there would be plenty willing to oblige. With minimal tinkering you could easily get two consecutive promotions.

I’m sure the luck evens itself out with Newport but I’m not really interested in that being a rival supporter!

We don’t need external investment (in my opinion). We just need to use the money we do have a little bit better.

It's a tricky one that's for sure. We're fan owned but the amount raised from our less substantial fan base is nowhere near enough to sustain league football forever. If or when the Cup runs dry up then so does the progress.

When you do eventually get promoted you'll likely find yourself with a similar issue. Because you've always got anomalies like forest Green or Salford chucking stupid cash around.

We made our own luck in the Cup by getting through the early rounds.

Yes. Some of the plucky non league sides you come up against can be problematic if you're not careful.

I must admit that I am not a huge fan of Newport, and expected you to be relegated back to non-league by now. However, given your extremely small fan base, that most people on South Wales don’t like football, and the fact that you are a newly formed club, I have to admit you have done well.

must admit that I'd be happy to avoid you in the future, just spotted some coverage of Newport fans bricking/bottling Tranmere coaches with families aboard post match. Hard men or what ? As luck would have it some Tranmere fans got hold of one of the tw@ts and gave him a good shoeing. Not that I'm condoning that sort of behaviour of course.

Is depressing watching both Lincoln and Tranmere flourish whilst we’re still struggling to keep a manager here for more than a season, continue to struggle to score goals etc etc
