If the club announced they were signing a midfielder who scored 5 goals the season just gone, picked up 13 yellows and a red, would we be happy?
Better than Rutherford by a country mile Solihull and Fylde 2 teams up there strengthening from last season.

Proactive managers who have experience and know the game.

Never mind we have a footgolf expert who if the leaks are true is going for a 17 goal striker in a real pub league judging by the terrible defending on the You tube clips.

Last season Fondop was our main striker signing.

Nothing changes at the circus only the Ringmaster at least twice a season.

While the owners count the takings.

The crap footgolf manager who took us to 5 points from the title (with being the 3rd manager) and with crap strikers.... so he didnt do too bad as you or the other moaners are trying to make out

I know this isn't our league but I didn't know where else to put it and it doesn't warrant its own thread, but former Reds player/current Wrexham U15 manager Rob Evans signed for Curzon Ashton, so we'll see a familiar face in our pre-season friendly there.

Come to think of it this is probably how the friendly came about

Off topic but been meaning to ask this for years and here seems as good a place as any: why 10 posts to a page on this forum? Every other forum I've ever used has more, usually 40. Any issues I've seen on forums tend to be caused by threads having too many pages. Sure there's a reason but it's been bugging me for a long time and thought I'd ask.

It is a toss up on database queries / overhead really. The forum software is a bit rubbish and dated but does the job, but one of the quirks is it can't cope with big numbers of posts and there are well over a million posts in the database so pulling a handful out at a time is nicer than loads.

It is also why searching is limited, RP has crashed servers before now as there was a database-wide search open so a single query would take it offline.

Updated software and/or bigger servers would help, but all the RP cash gets spent on the mods xmas party out in Hawaii, and despite protests Iesty and Bartonbank wont up the technical budget :toilet:

More seriously though I am keen to move to https://xenforo.com/ or even move up to latest VBulletin https://www.vbulletin.com/en/features/ - but that has been the plan for the last few summers and not happened...

Gateshead takeover complete. Should be some news in the next few days what's happening with them.

Is there anything the RP community could do?
Is it cost, time, effort?

We all take this service for granted.

Well it's all about the monies. More posts, more dollar.

Seriously though, I hope you leave well alone. With regards to most league and non league football forums I've experienced, this place is head and shoulders above them all.
