Just spoke to a few Notts County fans today. Fully expecting the club to go into admin when it goes back to court. Rumour is both take over consortiums won’t happen.

Welcome to the club, Tyrone Marsh who joins from @thesilkmen on a one-year deal 🤝[/QUOTE]

Nothing's certain in football but what I wouldn't give to make a signing like this.

I'm not sure he's that good, looked decent the season Macc went up but did nothing in L2 last season and has had a pretty nomadic low scoring career.

I think Hughes is on the look out for pacy players to play up top.We already have one forward who is on the slow side in Grant.

Maybe we cant afford him now :)

Budget must be at stretching point by now.
Obviously depending on deals BH has managed.

As we have all said better quality comes at a price.

We have £12.50 and free mars bars left for the RB :)
Just joking.

Ah but the free mars bars can now be supplemented with Tunnocks caramel wafers.....

No doubt he will be loaned out at some point , I think it was a poor move from the lad.Since his injury he’s needed consecutive game time, which he would’ve got here.

That’s going to be rough for him now. Grass always isn’t greener higher up when stuff like this happens.

How the hell can Notts County along with Chesterfield and Fylde be 9-1 favourites to win the league.
Best price for us is now 10-1. Oddschescker is wrong quoting our best odds as 16-1

Perhaps they are thinking it will extend the deadline for administration - i.e. convince the judge that there is a buyer in place and they get another month ??

Although they have some glaring gaps squad they still do have some good players left on there books. They beat Nuneaton 2-0 the other day in a friendly and i noticed Dennis scored for them.

If this buy out happens I expect them to get a cash injection for new players. Issue is though if they are in admin is they will have to take a points penalty, what is it now 15 point deduction???

Re: National League Updates 2019/20 Season II

If Notts County go into Admin and get a 10-15 point deduction then I'd fancy us to finish above them and the bookies will re-adjust the odds to reflect their negative starting position i.e. they won't be 9/1 co-favs at the start of the season if they get a points deduction. I think the e/w play on us at 9/1 or bigger is a cracking proposition assuming top 3 places personally. Will Fylde be able to sustain a second title race, will Notts County and Yeovil struggle with non-league physicality as opposed to football league playing style, surely Solihull had their best ever chance last year... :hurray:

Why do you think Solihull have had their best chance ever.Look at the squad much quality and experience and THE 25 goal goal man up front. We just talk and dream about signing a player like that.

Re: National League Updates 2019/20 Season II

The question is will any team stand out given that a lot have strengthened.
Its going too be a tough season as I think the league is levelling at the top as bugger clubs drop and these newer clubs rise.

How many clubs will be looking at the title and play offs?
Us, Chesterfield, Yeovil, Barnet, Pools and Daggers.
With the money Fylde, Solihull, Bromley, Boreham Wood, Harrogate and Barrow seem to have upped their budget.
Promoted Torquay and Stockport as ex league clubs.

Obviously everyone cant be winning but these teams at home will be looking for points.
Then pick up what you can away.

Seems to me a lot of teams could beat anyone and it doesnt look easy IMO.

Whoever wins it this season will go up on merit, as it will be difficult. We must hit the ground running against Barrow and then keep up the pace.

Its not going to be easy at all. You also get one surprise team each year that comes out of the blue as well.

While in the main I think on paper the squad looks stronger I still think we need one more quality addition in the midfield, RB and possibly a wide player who can cross to have a decent chance of pushing for the automatic spot.

I agree Torquay given their manager's pedigree will be there or thereabouts.

Disagree, bottom half for me. Johnson is certainly a good manager but they have a low budget and went down with a whimper 2 seasons ago with a lot of the same players.

Did well to romp a poor quality Conf south with GJ calling in loan favours from his son at Bristol City but they'll find this level a lot tougher going

I think this is potentially the best squad we've had since our 98 point season.
We have a solid defensive unit including a very good keeper, hopefully a better midfield, creativity with Redmond and certainly the potential for more goals with JJ, Harris, Mcintosh etc.

I think we need another winger, striker and a right back when the team returns from Portugal.

You’d have to assess everyone else's squads.

Our squad is marginally better than last season's so hopefully we can edge closer to 90 points and beyond.

The likes of Fylde and Solihull will contend. People are talking about chesterfield too although they’ve not signed anyone who’s that notable.

We’re led to believe Yeovil and Notts County won’t contend given their off field issues but we'll see.

This is key, your use of the word hopefully. That's my point. We haven't gone out and signed a midfield that we know improves on last seasons midfield.

I remain unconvinced whilst hoping to be proved wrong.

Based on the 13 times he started for Salford?
Or based on the fat he'll probably keep the hide and seek champion out of the team?

If its the latter then I agree.
