I know this isn't our league but I didn't know where else to put it and it doesn't warrant its own thread, but former Reds player/current Wrexham U15 manager Rob Evans signed for Curzon Ashton, so we'll see a familiar face in our pre-season friendly there.

Off topic but been meaning to ask this for years and here seems as good a place as any: why 10 posts to a page on this forum? Every other forum I've ever used has more, usually 40. Any issues I've seen on forums tend to be caused by threads having too many pages. Sure there's a reason but it's been bugging me for a long time and thought I'd ask.

It is a toss up on database queries / overhead really. The forum software is a bit rubbish and dated but does the job, but one of the quirks is it can't cope with big numbers of posts and there are well over a million posts in the database so pulling a handful out at a time is nicer than loads.

It is also why searching is limited, RP has crashed servers before now as there was a database-wide search open so a single query would take it offline.

Updated software and/or bigger servers would help, but all the RP cash gets spent on the mods xmas party out in Hawaii, and despite protests Iesty and Bartonbank wont up the technical budget :toilet:

More seriously though I am keen to move to [url]https://xenforo.com/[/url] or even move up to latest VBulletin [url]https://www.vbulletin.com/en/features/[/url] - but that has been the plan for the last few summers and not happened...
