Anthony Spyrou joins Chesterfield on loan and will get number 9 shirt. Underwhelming for them I'd imagine though he didn't really get a chance here I guess.

Is it just me who thinks Chesterfield have had an underwhelming summer? Thought they would have gone for it more.

Watch them now pish the league now I’ve said that

He was fantastic in the 1973 cup final.

Last night (Tuesday) pre season friendly / derby.

Chesterfield 0 Sheffield United 5

Attendance 6,270 with 3,365 Sheffield supporters.

Run outs for Luke Coddington / Jalal who shared the keeper role, Wedgbury, Boden and loanee Spyrou who we had on loan last season from Norwich City.

Once again no Tom Denton in their squad - unless he has moved (but not seen anything to suggest he has).

They have a club open day on Sunday - whilst ours is once again treated as no more than a nuisance and stuck on a Monday night.

Are Chesterfield a threat ? John Sheridan has transformed them to what they were under Martin Allen - they will have a much better season but not so sure they will be challenging.

My tip - the team to beat - AFC Fylde - steadily building with a good manager - getting stronger all the time with continuity of staff.

Wedgbury conference player of the year also scores 15 with 30 assists.
