But to create own goals must surely mean they are putting the balls in dangerous areas?

Ok, its a stroke of luck but i'm assuming there was a striker handily placed to force the defender into that decision.

Maybe I was hasty in saying they will walk the league but they certainly have an ominous look about them already. A consistent and good team will always create a spot of luck every now and then.

I still think they will be the team to beat. Finish above them and we will likely be champions.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9PtCdXY8kq0 2:20 - the power Fondop generates on that header is immense. Like I have been saying for about a year now, he should have been ahead of Oswell for us.

Expecting him to play as an isolated striker in a 433 was never going to work.

That was evident on Sunday with JJ spending most of the match isolated trying to feed on long balls. Comes back to the argument is the system we play not playing to the strikers we have strengths?

Yes partly. Strikers who don’t work hard (Boden, Fondop, Hooper ) are not going to work in the system. 442 with a hard working foil would be much better for them. Not surprising that it worked with the intelligent and hard working Beavon, but he couldn’t last more than an hour in the system. Personally I would have used the whole of pre season to develop a 442 with one of the midfield four being a wide player. Hooper and Harris playing closer together up front would be more productive and the four across the middle would not be outnumbered as they are now.
