our current set up has proved it is incapable of getting us out of this league, we were nowhere near enough good enough to win the play offs as results also proved, we can not get out of this league let alone look for investment when in the league, we are not going to get out of this league without investment and with the current set up we will not get investment, the current set up will not invest/speculate so here we are, stagnancy

And there is a huge question mark over whether we've done that

The current individuals in charge have made some bad decisions, in particular since Ricketts left, and the result of these decisions is where we are. The situation is retrievable though. I firmly believe that it should be possible to achieve promotion for Wrexham fc under fan ownership.

As far as Tranmere go. Palios is an example of a decent owner. He's a football guy as well as someone who has been a success outside football. I do not know anything about these Indonesians but he set about building the club for success after their slip into non league. I support the WST but feel that if we went up we'd need to seek outside investment in order to survive and go to a hybrid model.
exception that proves rule. we have competed in, what, 3 out of 11 seasons?

we need enough £ to compete every year.

We competed the season before. Until Keates left and the wheels fell off with 8 games to go.

I feel that we have the money to compete. We don't have the money to outapebd the rest of the division, but that's not what it is always about.

Ultimately though its all about the final league position which never lies and which shows we didn't compete.

I know it ultimately ended in failure but I’d say our position and points total did indicate we were competing. Obviously it has since all gone tits up and the board are largely to blame for that but I still don’t believe fans ownership per se can work

Ok use this analogy. In a game, for 60 minutes the score is 0-0, but then you concede 3 goals late on and lose 3-0. Did you compete or not?

I'd argue not because the only thing that matters is the result when the game is over.

This is my thought process for what its worth . I think our income levels are very good its the way the money has been spent (wasted) over the years by continuing mismanagement of the footballing side of things by the WST board lack of supervision of the WAFC board. Many other so called part time pub teams appear to be able to manage things much better than us !!

It is absolutely the ownership model and structure that's brought us here because there is zero accountability, a string of poor decisions, a jobs for the boys mentality and we keep doing the same things and expect different results.
The only employee at the club who is held to task is the manager and even that is flawed, look at the shambles that went on in January and the subsequent cover up.
Its a pointless debate in many ways because you cannot make a case for fan ownership and hold us up as an example. Not with any credibility anyway.

The fan base is split. Most want changes but a minority think more of individuals on the boards than they do the club. Weird.

The fans and people who run the club are at loggerheads.

For a so called fan owned club that spells disaster and it only takes your very basic joined up thinking to see why that will never work.

Attendances have plummeted.

The club has just kicked the DSA out creating further divide and then had the audacity to lie about events to save their own necks. To flip with the club lets try and worm our way out of it seems to be the attitude.

Coming on here lauding fan ownership in the face of what is going on right now against a league one club is just daft and embarrassing.
We were debating the merits of Tranmere Rovers ownership model so there is a supreme irony and almost black humour in saying that when the owner of Tranmere Rovers advocates fan ownership as the way forward and cautions against rogue owners.

Have you even bothered to read the article or does your anger and fury get in the way ?

As others have said are problems are about management not the ownership model.
