White might fit your logic but Boden? Look how he started banging them in after he left us.
We’ve had decent frontmen here but due to style of play/ refusal to play them, they end up withering away until they get away from us.

True but bargains can be had from lower tiers. Look at Curtis Tilt or Lee Trundle . It’s just a question of having the right manager who can spot quality. Oswell is not . Let’s hope Macintosh is.

But yes, essentially it’s another punt. We dont seem to have the money to sign more guaranteed quality.

The thing is a player of 26 at a level worse than the Welsh league from up Scotland is a big gamble just like Jordan White and he looked better on You Tube.

I take it you meant Beavon 😁 I get the point but Beavon never had a good scoring record but he was a good player with the ball at his feet lots of strikers from higher up who score goals but they expect to be paid for their ability to score and we simply sign players on a shoe string and hope they come good like Fondop.

Every season we gamble on signing players in the most important positions

The issue is that if you have 5 players in the team that struggle to even hit the target never mind score then the chances of 1 player (even Rowe) scoring diminish considerably. Thats what we have experienced.

Even now if Grant, Ruthers, Oswell and Fondop started then its very limited creativity and goals.
