One question.
Was McIntosh the striker who was on holiday who was supposed to sign for us or was it Willoughby?
Seemingly losing out on Willoughby and Tollitt who surely would have signed by now, if he was coming to the Racecourse, raises massive alarm bells.Bad enough being stuck with Grant, Rutherford and Wright for another season,in the current scenario looking like starters even worse.

I’m hoping this is Devante Rodney - his Twitter page shows that he’s on holiday.

Willoughby was in holiday when that rumour first started. He's now away with England C

People are quick to criticise hughes for his perceived inactivity in the transfer window. However, it’s my understanding that he identifies the targets, then meets them and tries to sell the club to them.
Is he responsible for negotiating the financial aspect too? Or do we have an Ed Woodward who makes that call?

By offering poor cash we get lots of punts. Our three strikers are last year's punt, this year's punt and Oswell (where the jury is out). Could two punts equal one good played? Maybe, but we seemingly can't get out of the cycle of collecting loads of waifs and strays and spending the same money anyway.

Ultimately in a footballing sense we're in a bad way; a rookie manager, no assistant, a one day a week coach, a goalie coach who may or may not stay (depending on whether his house sells, apparently), virtually no scouting network and an old school field to train on. Oh yes, we don't have the spending power to sign the mythical 'small, quality squad'.

Why should we expect things to be going well?

To me we feel like a semi-pro club with full-time players.
