Looking back at previous FAW posts says they will spend £5 million at Colliers Park , so that gives an idea how much things cost these days , and that's an upgrade really , starting from scratch heaven knows .

We are a long way off anything happening there.

I'm not aware of anything submitted to planning yet and there's absolutely no reason to get excited over a few grands worth of bore holes / investigation works. Surprised they've seen this as being worthy of a mention, perhaps they're setting us up for a 'this is where the money is going, not the team' statement as next season approaches....

There is no work going on at the Groves.
Trial holes being done at 9 acres. Testing for ground conditions etc. prior to designing a new school?
The club aren't spending anything on this.

We'll find out what progress is being made re, The Groves at the AGM but it appears that some discussions have been going on to be able to target 2020.
Seems a bit hopeful to me.

To be fair the statement does read like a Leader report.

Reading the latest statement basically it's all about the bore holes at the 9 acre. And 2 pitches will be 'built' on the groves site! Hardly anything to get excited about no mention of a clubhouse or changing rooms or gym just 'purpose built' which could mean anything the reader wants it to mean. So we can safely say it ain't gonna cost £250k to 'build' 2 pitches.
