“The Society resolves to introduce a system of objectives for elected members of the WST board whereby each elected board member will, within 3 months of the annual general meeting, adopt and publish on the WST website a set of “SMART” annual objectives (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Timebound) relating to their work on the board and will report to members at the following year’s annual general meeting on the progress of those objectives”

Done it like this as I thought debate would be all over the place, plus it allows the VOTE ROCKIN ROBIN campaign to get an extra boost :jester:

not really realistic.
I would be pleased if the SMART objectives were published for the board as a whole and they were to publish a newsletter every three months giving progress updates.

Well Trust board members themselves think this is realistic and are happy to do it so why would you think differently than the people affected?

What happens then if a WST Board member fails to meet their targets?

They are never seen again.

In reality, probably nothing.

But then again, if it is the members proposing their own objectives they are hardly likely to choose any that they might struggle to achieve.

Its common sense if you are setting your own to make them pretty easy to achieve.
