Difficult one this....

I think most people agree there is something about him and as he proved at the start of last season he can score goals. However attitude wise he is severely lacking and whatever he did last season to loose his first team place must have been pretty serious.

Coming back after pre season overweight though shows a real lack of respect for the club that has given him a chance with a two year contract. IMHO I think any chance he did have of getting back into the squad is gone now.

And is why some of us were trying to suggest to move on.

Frankly - IF (and I don't know) he has ignored team orders and come back unfit then why give him a break ? In respect of ability and if applicable mental state he of course deserves understanding but getting out of condition as a footballer cannot be tolerated.

See quote below. Clearly he didn't come back as in shape as was expected of him. He's only got himself to blame.

I think its time to get rid. We're not here to hang around waiting for players to decide to shape up or be given 'a chance' or another chance. He's had that and not taken it. The fact he wasn't taken to Portugal speaks volumes.

“Mike hasn't come back in the same fitness levels as some of the others," said Hughes.

"It was important to get a week back on the training ground. He trained with Matty and Jack, joined in sessions with the youth team.”

This isn't baseless as a quote direct from BH has told us what we need to know. Struggling to see what you and JND are getting at here to be honest and what you expect when a player comes back unfit.
Its this type of attitude that I hope isn't present with BH and his staff, they need to be ruthless, we're not some rehab clinic for wayward players to sort themselves out.

This.

It just smacks of being unprofessional. He knew he'd have a fight on his hands to get back in the team and to turn up to pre-season out of shape shows a lack of respect.

Grant looked fat last year and was woeful, but its clear he's spent the off-season getting into shape so he starts with a clean slate from me. That's all Fondop had to do.

JND's doing his monthly 'I'll pretend to be a calm and considerate' poster routine.

Fondop should be sacked the tit.
